Re: Creating new contest on the forum

NO ! This breaks main rule of this game : Every member can participate for any country.

You can't throw out some people.

Wait a minute... there are no sure rules yet, we're still in the process of discussion.

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

One more thing: why would the english jury be overcrowded? Personally, i would find joining it kinda boring, uncreative, and against the purpose of the concept.

Also, to counter the "a Mexican would have little chance to get his song representing the Spanish jury" argument: similar thing can be said about a French speaking Canadian disadvantaged in a Canadian jury. Actually, anyone from a big jury would have low chance for his favorite to go through, no matter what concept we decide on.

About first one, I think me too. ;)

About second one, no, it is not same. Mexico than would compete with Spain, Argentina, Chile, Peru, etc. and French speaking Canadian have almost same rights as English speak Canadian as as far as I know, both languages are official there so no any disadvantage. Anyway, you just use one specific situation because in most countries there is just one language official. ;)

Yeah, but that rule is the main difference from FSC and NSC.

And I think,it's the only rule for which we all agree.

Why making juries? Why don't you just let one person own one country.

We can change that rule to: "Every member can participate for any country as long as it's free". Here comes back my idea of rotating juries.

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

Are there any supporters of my 3 people per jury option? And rotating with others after 3 months?

Honestly, I do not think that in this contest will be much members per jury than 3. Maybe there will be some exceptions but as far as people re happy in their jury they should stay there if you ask me.
If they are unhappy, they can switch as they want. xshrug

I agree. I'm not sure where all this jury nonsense came from. I dont see why people would want to participate as a group and have less say in the votes/entries anyway...

And we will again have some waiting lists.

And that idea of rotating juries is silly, because I don't want to be part of jury which music I don't know , like Nigeria. And every member has right to decide for which country will he/she participate.

That is again the fake consensus speaking. And that is not really a big difference from FSC and NSC. Contest wise it does not change the mechanics a lot.

Why do languages only need to be official? An average country has 45 different spoken languages. And if you only count the official ones, it is still over 2. List of official languages by state - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ok then, but then there will be a battle for Croatia between me,Hele and LakZaNokte. So this really doesn't have connection with main idea of game.

Because if more people want to participate for one country they should not be stopped in join to it. ;) Contest is imagined that every member can join in country that he/she wishes.

But there is still not sure there will be countries. xrofl2

French language has to compete with English language in the Canada jury the same way Mexico has to compete with Argentina in the Spanish language jury.
Likewise, most languages are widely used in only one country.

Seriously, how many people know about Nigerian music? It would be our job to find a song and send it. If we're going to be in the juries of countries we know the music of, then there will be only some European countries, USA, Australia and Canada.

That's what I wanted to say.If people think that they are in overcrowded jury they can leave the jury and go in another one.

Here, than I suggest, that every member must stay in one jury just 2 months.

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

As much as this is a Eurovision forum and people enjoy music and music related contests, the new contest(s) don't have to be music-related as long as they are fun based and run well. Music is just one avenue this could take, gaming / sports / celebrity and the rest could all work, as long as there was enough interest by some members :)

well thats the joys of being in a song contest, you get to discover songs. If youre just going to send songs you know already, it will be more boring for you and the people who listen to your songs!
