Re: Creating new contest on the forum

Therefore, we decided to create a new contest in which do not have those restrictions that are in the FSC and the NSC.
And now it turns out everyone wants to create an entirely new competition. Why not talk about it before?

Wait, why I was reading almost 30 pages in ifrst place if it wasn't for that?:lol:

I think that if you can participate for any country and that we have no ROW,it's enough difference between FSC and new contest.

Tbh, I think a new contest is usefull if it's something totally different. I mean I'm not gonna participate for Belgium in FSC and for Belgium or another country in an extended FSC. You have the spin-offs for that ;)!

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

You have to forget FSC and NSC, and stop comparing :?

If you are from Peru, who may participate in FSC only as ROW, or is 30th in WL in NSC and may participate in 1-2 years apart, you would not say

The one who is comparing the new contest with FSC here is primarily you here with having the idea that anything which wouldn't have country based juries is not imaginable. Personally I feel that you as an admin are way too heavily pushing your agenda here. For example:

Therefore, we decided to create a new contest in which do not have those restrictions that are in the FSC and the NSC.
And now it turns out everyone wants to create an entirely new competition. Why not talk about it before?

NSC WL countries have said 999 times that they do not want a new contest, but want to join nsc so it is not creating a "new carbon copy for nsc WL people" issue. It is an issue of creating a legitimate new contest here. And not talking about it before? When, the topic has been opened for less than a day.

If you want to have a new contest it has to be a new contest not an inferior version of nsc/fsc. And having it based around languages makes it distinctively special and targets a different crowd (people who are less interested in mainstream music in English language for example). And that is good.

I am not admin, I am initiator of the creation of new contest (except for me is why no one did it?)

My bad, you are clearly connected to the forum administration though.

And I stand by my point that having the people based on countries rather than based on language is bad, as that would be nothing original and would target more or less the same group of people who already are in fsc now, while doing in language based would target a new group of people who perhaps haven't joined either FSC or NSC yet.

Let's talk about the game creation and not about other things, otherwise the game creation will get nowhere ;)

We're talking about creating two completely different games, which by the way, both have a right to exist.
In Language contest again, I see discrimination as to why only in Poland speak Polish, so Polish jury will be only 1 country, and in Spanish 21? :?

Time restriction in FSC will never change my friend, ;). It has always been there (it was even a shorter length before), and it's a part of its core concept.

That's too bad. Because the time restriction in FSC is the biggest issue of this contest, imo :?

1st of all you are thinking inside the box again 2nd Polish is not only spoken in Poland 3rd How is it say more discriminating than USA getting only 1 entry in fsc (it has a comparable population with all the Spanish speaking countries combined)

That's a valid concern. I see that too, but it depends on whether people are willing to accept that or not :)

FSC and the new game are completely different concepts and objectives, so they are two separate contests. You can not say that this is a copy, and if it is a copy, it is better than the original.

I beg to disagree. From the point of getting entries you still have the same restriction of 1 per country, only losing out the issue of time. From the quality of entries, I predict it to get worse as the moving around between countries creates the likely issue with people moving to a country to send big well know world hits by the country which loses the only strength of FSC = getting songs from small countries only the local people have knowledge about. Concept wise it all looks way too similar.

I'm also totally against language rule! I really think it is unnecessary. ;)

I think some sort of defining rule is necessary, otherwise why bother with a new contest? Why not just set up FSC 2.0 and continue as a faction?

You are right. The contest is creating to ensure that there was no association in the group (like ROW and WL), and to each expressed themselves.
If the desired language groups - there is a spinoff in NSC

Which takes place every 2 years or so and has different mechanics from the potential language song contest in having solo users vs juries. And by that logic I can say that your whole desired contest already more or less exists as fsc.

Ok, in new contest Language spinoff you can takes place every month as you want ;) It would be more fair. Who does not like it - will not participate.
