Re: Creating new contest on the forum

Hmm, I dunno about this. Might feel like overkill for me since I'm already in a jury for FSC and on the WL for NSC as well as trying to get involved with as many spin-offs as possible. There would have to be a drastically different slant to the rules for me to consider getting involved. Will check back when more concrete plans have been made ;)

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

I really do not understand why so much forcing about inventing "something new and innovative". We can make a brainstorming here and find zillion little unique ideas but it all will bring some kind of restriction. This is also not supposed to be some themed FSC Spin off too. ;) I really do not get why so much forcing looking for some "innovative ideas" that will not bring anything but some kind of restriction to this game. We are all here (and in FSC & NSC) because of music, no? So, let just enjoy the music without any restrictions and that is it. Why it has to be "language song contest" to be more interesting and to differ more than other two forum contests? :? For me contest without limits and equal rights for all members. (What is not in FSC and NSC ) as Trece said is simply enough. ;)

One of the best posts ever ! xup

It was said a few times, that you don't have to leave FSC to join this one, you can be in both.

You can. But seriously, who can really manage to be in two contests at the same time? At least I can't.

Maybe some people can manage, I don't know. Also, some people may participate in this one, and not in FSC, like me.

Anyone can. Listening to songs and voting is not that hard

I cannot believe people have patience to discuss with you and some other people here.
You know how a "contest without limits" would look like?
- You can represent any country, language, region, planet or galaxy you want.
- Everyone can send their favorite song, movie, book, political party, favorite pet or whatever else or even send nothing and still participate
- There's no time limit for confirming your entries and voting.
- There's no set system of voting, you can give any amount of points to any entry. You can also vote by giving kisses/hugs/facebook likes/watermelons/etc. instead of points.

You don't have to tell me this is not what you want. I know it's not. I'm just pointing out that restrictions are necessary and you want just as many restrictions as anyone else. The discussion is about what kind of restrictions we want. You want them to be country-based. Someone else wants them to be language-based. That's it. Neither is more or less limiting.

As for my own opinion, i don't care that much. I'm satisfied with NSC and don't need another contest, so i mainly hope the new contest helps to solve NSC WL issue. But i may join the language contest if it gets through, since i have a good idea what language i might represent :D

Not to intrude in the current conversation (of tonight) but the name I came up with this afternoon (for this new contest) is: Country Contract Contest (CCC). Because each one of us will be able to choose to be in the jury of any country, for a period of time (6, 8 or 12 months or longer). How about that? I think ForumVision sounds a bit dull.

I can. At the moment I'm/was just in

-FSC
-FSC Spin Off
-WLSC (I'm also hosting the current edition)
-NSC Spin Off

So 4 contests at the same time. There are several of us who do that.

Ans when this new contest starts, I will also be in it.

All those stuff is no sense of course, and you know very well it is not point of this new contest. It is very well known about what we are talking about. ;) Yes, of course there will be rules and some restrictions about voting, etc. But it it is a question what is limit to restrictions. ;)
It is more or less the same - we have songs competition. But language rule is something that is not necessary and what will make BIG imbalance because in English and Spanish jury will be too much people while in others significantly less. And on this way we have opportunity to get known music other countries that we do not have in FSC like Argentina, Chile, etc. I'm using this example: who knows how many months we will need to wait until their songs win NF in competition with songs from Spain, Mexico and others. ;)

And on country rule we would also have a big imbalance where in USA, UK, Sweden and Spain you will have loads of people. So really if you would support having no restrictions, you would vote for not having countries, but people taking part as themselves.

However, in this case, people have an alternative. If I love Spanish, I can choose one of the many Spanish-speaking countries. In your case I'll have to either be widely regarded as one of the many Spanish jury, or choose ... language of Congo and Malaysia  However, we have already agreed on a large monthly language spinoff ;)

I appreciate your imagination but I doubt anyone would understand what you wrote when they think "contest without limits". It's more like "you can send songs in any year" or "participate as any country juror" etc.

This contest is a new idea (it was mentioned only last night). We'll figure out together how it il be the rules. No one's chasing or forcing us for to be quick. And I don't think it needs to be super different and unique from other forum contests although some people want so.

something like
LakZaNokte (Croatia) and then I would be tied in croatia for a while but would stand for myself. but what if there's more people interested in Croatia?
or, I was thinking, why should we be tied with countries at all?
each player plays for himself but also must state which country he/she represents that month. fsc meets nsc thing, kinda.
tbh, I don't expect THAT many USA's in that case cause it will be similar to nsc now but victories will count for countries, not players (like in fsc)

just brainstorming here

Let's make a rule, that a country can have up to 3 members - this will end the worries about overcrowded juries of specific countries. After 3 months have passed, the juries will be replaced by other ones.

So let's make a rule that you must leave it, BUT only if other people want to join - if there are no volunteers for the Croatian jury, then you can stay.

Croatian jury already has 3 member, so if another Croatian member decide participate in the contest and want be in the Croatian jury, I think that he has all rights for it.

Like I said, they would rotate. Because if every Croatian forum member wants to be in the Croatian jury, then we will have 10-people jury like in FSC :?
