Lols south ftw!

I haven't watched FSC for almost a year now so I don't really know if anyone is in Korean jury there... if not then I can't wait to send some kpop your way :D

FSC has only 40 countries + ROW (2 countries), and in the world more than 200 countries, so 160 countries never represented in FSC because of ROW

I could be totally in the South African jury
I know a band, which I like songs very much :D

I was thinking about joining a South-African jury too ! But I only know kitsch songs in Afrikaans .

And in FSC you have to be a citizen of that country you represent. The other 160 countries aren't represented, because there are no members on this forum from those countries.

What's wrong with the Afrikaans language? :?

Nothing at all. I like that language, it sounds to me if someone tries to speak Dutch but forgets the conjugation :).

I wanted to say, the songs I know are most of the time typical schlager ;).

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

I will be here to formalize things, draft up rules, and all of those mod things, BUT I will only do that once the members have decided it. As some of you have said, this is a community venture. So, I'm in support of whatever the community decides to have :). I think this thing will get its first trial edition in 2~3 weeks at the very earliest, to be realistic.

Ok, so so far there hasn't been a consensus on how the new song contest (WSC, or whatever name you guys decide) will be.

From what I read people want the following:

No song age limit
ESC songs are not allowed
Maybe open NF
No jury/country cap
Free to choose whatever jury/country

You guys know this, but you will have to decide on what the core principle of the game is, then add on details to it.

For instance, one of the most important thing is pace, how often do you guys want the edition to last? (1 month, 2 weeks, whatever you guys decide).

Then, what's the main selling point of this song contest? What will give this game its own flavor and make it stand out from NSC and FSC. You guys will have to decide that too

As for the jury, will it be a multi people jury? Will it be a single people jury? Will there be flexible jury membership?

Since this is a community based venture, once we have suggestions on those things, we can vote on it via a poll :). After that, I will formalize the rules based on what you guys want have decided upon

As for dedicated WSC Mods (Whatever the name becomes), people can let us know here whether they are interested in doing it, or have free time, what have you. You guys can decide that openly, or privately whichever is a better way for you.

Can somebody tell me what will happen with FSC? That is going to continue, isnt it?
Can people participate in both contests?

3 variants: WSC, ForumVision, South Song Contes xrofl
I think enough abbreviates (FSC, NSC)

Yes

what the core principle of the game
what's the main selling point of this song contest

Anyone can participate on equal rights with other participants

2 suggetions: 1 month and 3 week (can to add a poll about this)

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

Exactly, so what is it that will set the new contest apart from NSC and FSC? :)

I don't know, but maybe the absence of nationality rules and we play with real countries?

No WL (like NSC) and limit of countries and choosing any country for participating (like in FSC)

ok but when you"ve a limit of countries, you'll certainly get more demand than places, no?

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

The issue about how long a contest lasts will sort itself out, if you go for a long contest, if people get bored you can change it, or if you go for a short contest and lots people fail to vote, you can make it longer. This contest isnt going to be perfect on the first edition, it will take a long time (and a lot of work from the mods) to get the contest rules perfectly sorted out and pleasing to everyone.

Okies, we are getting a good start with it :).

So what exactly is equal rights? Could you tell me what exactly that means in the context of the song contest

We can make a poll about everything, even the contest name ;)

I don't know, but maybe the absence of nationality rules and we play with real countries?

We can add that to the suggestion, I think other members would like that too

Re: Creating new contest on the forum

but what if we have 150 different juries?:s

There are many options for how best to proceed. For example the creation of semi-finals (for the 150 countries did not quite fit) or part of the queue (like in ESC until 2004, if your country not in top-XX, yuo can't participate in next contest)

But you are right: it sth between FSC and NSC

Another thing, the first few editions of this will be basically a test for the rules, you guys can change it depending on what you want and see fit :).
