The scandinavian cultures are almost identical and also the music tastes most of the time. The same could be said about Estonia and Latvia. The connection between Malta and azerbaijan and all the 12 pointers from Malta is a big disgrace. They're not even trying to hide it.

Not to mention, Norwegian and Swedish music industry is almost the same, it's not only in ESC you'll find norwegians and swedes teamed up. We don't share that same strong bond to Denmark though, we're tight with Sweden.

The swedes have very tight connections to Norway, Finland och Denmark. Hell, two of those contries were a part of Sweden and Skåne was a part of Denmark once. Swedes hate to loose against Finland in hockey, Denmark in football and Norway in skisports. It's like losing to your little brother, not fun but everyone knows who's on top :D

First of all you don't have to be neighbours in order to appreciate music or to connect with a country. I'm no way near from Romania or Italy, but I have a certain like for these countries, Romania in particular. Same thing can be applied to Malta and Azerbaijan. Maybe they share the same temperament and taste in music. Farid said in one of his interviews that he felt like home in Malta and described Maltese people like a warm, hospitable nation just like the Azerbaijanis. Nothing strange here.

if South Korea would join Eurovision, many Romanians will vote with them, cause many admire Korean culture :D
nothing will be strange if they receive 10 points from us.

It's pretty obvious that the azeris are much more likely to bribe their way through than the nordics. Also, the lame excuses that Farid have been touring in Malta should not affect the juries now should it. Azerbaijan winning again soon will be the death of the ESC.

i wish azery had won the eurovision again.they are desperate.not a single year without a scandal.on the level of minister and president they make lame excuses why they hadn't given pts to Russia))

I think Malta is a country who like ESC in the traditional sense, so they will not vote for "Hard Rock Hallelujah", but appreciate a "classic style". Azerbaidjian's entries are classic. San Marino also prefer "classic style" not Modern Eurovison.

I liked Azerbaijan's entry this year and I even would prefer them to win instead of Denmark...but If there is a case of corruption, wherever it comes (not only from Azerbaijan) It should be clarified.

It's funny that their president asked for vote recount. They upset Mother Russia.
I bet mine was drinking a beer, not watching Eurovision.

The presidents making excuses for not voting "X" country is simply EMBARRASING and PATHETIC and brings the contest reputation down to the mud. It's a freacking song contest, for ****'s sake! They are telling us in our faces that their voting is pure politics.

There is another point that many of probably left. -there was a violence of rules regarding the jouries, who they could be,what they Can't do.excatly the can't root openly for any contestant, neither have a direct or indirect tie with them.Russian jury member Kirkorov disregarded the rules,he open supported asery participant, calling to vote for him ,his dancer helped azery with staging.here's an extract regarding the rules, though in Russian ,but u may google translate it or find same rules in English. " Никто из членов жюри не должен быть причастен к производству и исполнению песен участников конкурса, чтобы оценить выступающих независимо и беспристрастно.

Тем временем Азербайджанский певец Фарид Мамедов, которого поддерживал Киркоров, опубликовал официальное заявление с благодарностями к российскому певцу.

«Я безумно благодарен Филиппу Киркорову. Благодарен команде его греческих друзей, режиссеру Фокасу Евангелиносу и танцору Филиппа Александру Кузьменко."

Eurovision 2013: Corruption allegations must be responded to now through full transparency.

Given the current unprecedented level of media scrutiny regarding potential corruption in the Eurovision Song Contest voting, the EBU must immediately release the full split results for each country. Not a month after the contest as usual, by which time said results can theoretically be fiddled so as to be mathematically plausible. Now. The situation demands it.

This is turning into a total disgrace. It's hitting the headlines in the UK, and it just makes Eurovision look like a fix. Action MUST be taken.

It's very easy to make it all go away. Release split voting for each country. If everything adds up, all this goes away. If things don't add up, then it needs to be remedied.

Showig results separately for all countries will clarify the situation and honesty (if it there is) of the Eurovision.
And such a mystery and secrecy do not give a competition advantage.

This is not only about Azerbaijan. Unfortunately most of the ex-USSR share this bad soviet heritage. One two years are not enough in order to become anything close to Nordic countries yet I believe things get better year after year.

Yes ... and I'm Cinderella.

No! He said it well in fact! :az:, :gr:, :mt: and :ro: have very good relations and they love each others culture. The Spanish people complain that because of the Romanian Diaspora they always have to give 12 points to :ro:. Well, :hu: has a big Diaspora in :ro: to, but the Romanian people vote every year for :md:, :gr: and :az:, and they vote for us back. That's why the Hungarian Diaspora doesen't score high in our televoting because we don't split our votes to 25 countries, but to only 3 countries. So as a lot of Romanians vote with :md:, :gr: and :az:, the Hungarian diaspora isn't that strong.

If the Spanish people would pick a country and all of them would vote for it then :ro: couldn't possibly get 10 in televoting.

So maybe people in :mt: have talked and they decided to vote for :az: every year!

Btw, people where saying here that :ro: will only get points from :md: this year. And I always sustained that our friends from :az: and :gr: won't let us down, and I was right, as we got 20 points from them in the Semifinal, and 16 in the Final :)
