@ Scooby

You as a gay person living in Serbia should pay more attention to homophobic things... I'm really speechless you react like that! :?

He didn't comment her singing, but only that she is trans gender, and you didn't watch properly it seems, when Filip Janevski said: "Ja sam trans gender", Joksimovic answered "Ti si TRANDZINA" and was shocked, just a shock taht somebidy is trans gender like taht is homophobic and you know that very well, listen again..he acts he doesn't know what is trans gender, everybody in gay community in Serbia speak about that and you...:? strange..

 No comment any more, if you want homophobes!! :?Hee even pretended that he doesn't know what is trans gender! :?

I think he won't be incorporated in our entry this time and THANKS GOD for that!

Alot of people don't know what trans-gender is, it doesn't make them homophobes though, perhaps one could call them ignorant or uneducated on the issue, but that's not the same thing. In fact, comparing trans to being gay is just as ignorant then imo because they are two different things...

I'm not aware of what happened, and nor do I care much. In the end of the day this thread is about the potential Bosnian entry (has it even been confirmed that Hari is in fact the entrant? and we don't even know if Zeljko would have any involvement anyways?). Sure, one can have opinions on the entrants (and songwriters etc.), and it may be interesting to discuss from an ethical point of view whether certain acts are good representatives of countries or not, but it doesn't really change the actual music though.

I think one can be able to like someone's work without liking their personalities or opinions.

It was one article in one daily news about Hari participating this year. There was written too that Hari was pick number one for Malmo but there was some misunderstading at the end and that's the main reason why BiH drop out this year (financial reasons are just for public). And željko was nothing in common with Hari this time

Doesn't see anything wrong in her, and in a country with basic human rights it wouldn't be strange at all, but Serbia.. :( and even more horrible is when gay person speak like that..then there is no solution at all..

I think that Jelena Karleuša is ugly too! Is that attitude appropriate opinion in country like Serbia? Personally I don't like that Fifi as a presence, how is hard to understand that. And I think that Conchita Wurst is creature too ;)

Why do you correlate being gay with being trans-gender? To me that is equally ignorant as being ignorant towards any of the two. I've got nothing against trans-gender people, but me being gay doesn't mean I have to understand or support the trans-gender community because there's no correlation between the two, in fact I don't even have to support another gay person just because I'm gay myself.

Exactly the same as me :D
I just hope they keep on sending their beautiful ethnic stuff. Even their worst entry on the last few years, in my opinion ("Thunder and Lightning") was good!

I agree on the "ethnic stuff" part, but don't let me be reminded about that dreadful thunder song...

So overrated, even to this date I'm mad about it making it to the finals... for me that was the "Dorians" of the 2010... xpuke

Re: BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA 2014

"Thunder and Lighting" is the one scuff mark on a otherwise beautiful Bosnian record of entries. Its pretty obvious they were trying to win over the juries but unfortunately for them it came at the cost of losing their base. Bosnia is usually around the top 10 when they go ethnic thanks to the televote but when they stray the results really suffer.

Split results in the final

2009 Regina (ethnic) - 7th televote 12th jury
2010 Vukašin Brajić (western) - 16th televote 14th jury (11th televote semi saved by jury)
2011 Dino Merlin (ethnic) - 6th televote 11th jury
2012 Maya (not really mainstream or ethnic) - 16th televote 15th jury

Jury has NEVER been hot for Bosnia! :( They didn't vote for them when they went mainstream and they certainly didn't vote for them when they go ethnic. xshrug Unfortunately unless the chips somehow fall their way I think Hari Mata Hari's 3rd in 2006 will remain their best result for some time. :(

As far as the song goes, it's a meh-fest for me, but taste differs... good singer or not, this is not Idol/X-factor/The Voice... if the song isn't good then I couldn't care less about whether the act is a good singer or not. It's not called "song" contest for nothing ;)

Below average, and no to the latter

Re: BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA 2014

The only Bosnian song that ever made it into my personal Top 10 was in 2011 (which was the weakest year since I've been watching). There is something about their songs that leaves me indifferent. I also don't really dislike any of there recent efforts. I have rather low expectations but hopefully Bosnia can prove me wrong.

They gay and trans communties are the same people for the most part. There are a few gay people (men in particular) who are quite offensive towards us, but generally we get on very well and stick up for each other.

As for Zeljko, I won't lie and say I'm not disappointed, as he is one of my musical icons and I expected better. But as A-Lister says, I feel it is more lack of education about the subject rather than full-blown transphobia.

It's interesting that Bosnia is back, but tbh I didn't miss them last year as most of their recent efforts have been poor and their absence changes up the Balkan voting patterns. I expect them to qualify no matter what they send.
