I think it's really time to SAY NO to Zeljko Joksimovic, Hari Mata Hari and others who are always incorporated in Balkan entries, it's time or smth modern and different to show to Europe that in B&H and Serbia there is smth different and on the World level..or if they really MUST keep that style to choose other composers and singers in that style..but I'm rather for style changing..

I think it's really time to say YES once again to Zeljko ... although I wasn't a big fan of his latest contribution to ESC...

Modern? as in Swedish or American safe Pop music? There's more to the world than that.... ESC is a platform to showcase your own country, enough with musical imperialism and narrow-mindnesses!

Well said! ESC is about showcasing the music of your own country, not adopting a faux image and send something that has no or little correlation to the actual local music scene!

It's about being proud of what you have and not give in to trends set by record-labels in a different part of the world... I mean there must be a place and forum in this world for both local sounds and western (American) sounds and for them to live side by side... or has it come to this that we deluded ourselves that there's no room for both? Who is making up these "rules" of what is acceptable in this time anyways? ESC should be a strong force in celebrating the local and showcase that it's possible for that to survive in a contemporary globalized world and that the traditional and local can be made "hip and modern" aswell, and not just totally give in and accept some sort of pre-conceived "idea" set up by multi-billion American music labels (that have the resources to promote a certain type of music to the whole world) of how all music should sound like. I totally get the idea to fusion traditional with modern, it's a good way of keeping the traditional alive and contemporary, however I don't buy into the idea that all forms of modern music need to be some sort of copy of what those American labels want us to believe it should sound like.

I mean Rihanna is one of my favorite artists for instance, but that doesn't mean that there's no place for a Zeljko or a Ceca in contemporary music aswell...

@ Scooby

I doubt ESC fans would like Zeljko Joksimovic after his hompohobic reaction s in X factor jury, and really he is UTTER idiot for that, Kristina Kovac is right, he is actually gay, closet gay, that is why he is that homophobic! he's AWFUL person!

Since when was ESC a personality or ideological contest? I can't speak for Scooby, but I'm pretty sure he is referring solely to the music and nothing else.

Like A-lister said zillion times, ESC is not a personality contest, thats a music show. I was watching that show and I personally don't see anything homophobic in his statements about that trans-person called Fifi. He just noticed that he is transgender and thats all (I saw that on that way). At least he was guest in Boki13 show and we all know who Bojan Jovanovski is.

I don't care if someone is gay, trans, bisexual, plant lover etc etc etc in music industry, I only care for his/her/him musics and thats all.
