Okay so we now know when the first show will be broadcasted. It will air at 8.45 PM ( GTM +1) next saturday.

Grace has the honour of officialy opening eurosong 2025 so we will know and hear her song first. Pretty exciting! In the first show Grace, LEEZ, Le Manou and Len will present us their song.

Some background information on the artists:
Grace won the Voice of Flanders 2021 at competing broadcaster of VRT, VTM. She is a Belgian singer with Congolese roots( DR Congo is a former Colonie of Belgium). She actually was born in Amsterdam (NL) but moved early to Belgium and has the dubbel Belgian-Dutch nationality. Her coach in her The Voice adventure was Natalia Druyts. Natalia participated in the preselection of eurosong 2003, finishing second behind Xandee. After her The Voice adventure Grace has so far released 6 songs being Freedom (2021), No Fool (2022), Rio(2022), Unified(2023) this one being a duet with another The Voice-Coach Koen Wauters(Singer of Clouseau who represented Belgium at Eurovision 1991), Shake My Pain Away (2023) and Monsieur Mysterieux(2024).

LEEZ is the alias of Lisa Van Rossem. She started her musicadventure back in 2005 by participating in the preselections of JESC 2005 as part of the duo 'Lila'. Their song "Eén dagje uit" finished third behind Lindsay and Max. She then participated in The Voice of Flanders 2016, choosing Folk-artist and former presenter of Eurosong Bart Peeters as her coach. She made it to the liveshows but was knocked out in Liveshow 1. LEEZ breakthrough really came thanks to her Brother Metejoor who is a famous artist in Flanders and The Netherlands. She acted as a backing vocal for him. LEEZ actually is diagnosed with the sickness of Chron. She has released 4 songs so far being Who will be There(It's me) in 2023, a cover of Bruce Springsteen's Dancing In The Dark in 2024, If You Ever Leave me (2024) and Toxic Lullaby (2024). Her song Toxic Lullaby was on the longlist of 20 nominees for the Radio 2 summer hit 2024 but didn't make it to the final 10.

Le Manou is the alias of Manou Maerten. Her musicadventure started in 2008 with competing in the musicprogramme for Kids " Zo is er maar Een". She finished second behind Thomas Carpentier. In 2009 she participated at JESC finishing second behind Laura Omloop with her song Comment Faire. She then also participated in the second season of The Voice Belgique (Walloon Version) back in 2012 were she had Natasha St. Pier( who represented France at Eurovision 2001) as a coach. She made it to the semi-finals. Since then she has been focussing on building up her own Music Studio Durbuy Music and has released 10 songs on Spotify being Addict (2019), Palmier(2020), Boule Disco (2020), Perfection(2021), La Femme(2021), Vacation I Need You Know(2021), Boule Disco(2021), Palais Des Glaces(2023), Faute De Frappe (2023) and Zone 30(2023). Her most viewed YT-video however is Elle(2015) but she didnt release that song on Spotify.
Besides a singer she is also a DJ. She acted as the opening act for last year participant Mustii during some shows.

Len Neefs is a starting artist. He was a backup for the lead role Oliver in the Musical Oliver. Singing runs through his family though. His dad Günther is a well-established artist in Flanders. His granddad Louis Neefs represented Belgium 2 times at Eurovision. Being Eurovision 1967 with " Oh, oh, ik heb zorgen" and in 1969 with " Jennifer Jennings". Louis probably is one of the best male singers in Flanders till today. His Aunt Connie Neefs has also participated in the first Eurosong ever of eurosong 1975.

Why is Belgium first in the odds?
Probably has multiple reasons.

Snippet release tomorrow (this time for real). Songfestival.be & eurovisionbelgium_official are hinting something is going to happen tomorrow through IG

Edit: LEEZ also confirmed it pretty much through a new post on her Instagram.

Looks like we will finally have snippets tomorrow🇧🇪🥳

Le Manou and VRT confirmed through instagram that there will be snippets tomorrow. The snippets will be of the candidates in show1.

So tomorrow we will have snippets of Grace, LEEZ, Le Manou & Len. Next week of Jelle, Mentissa, Stefanie en Red Sebastian.

Also VRT released an instagram video of the candidates describing their song. I will translate it:

Jelle: " I hope people will play my song when they need to be reminded of the fact that they got it"
Mentissa: " My song is about selfconfidence, to be happy with yourself and to not care too much what other people say"
Stefanie: " My song in a few words: Happy, pure, optimistic and intens."
Le Manou: " A parody of how it is as to be seen as someone that gets everything because of their parents."
Len: " In the song are multiple feel good elements, you will be happy after it and could use it as a morning alarm."
Grace: "The two words I would use to describe my song are refreshing and powerful."
Leez: " Could you be together with someone, without changing anything to that person?"
Red Sebastian: " a wonderful night where you go all in without knowing where it will end."

Snippets + Jury are out.

Songtitels:

Grace- Pull Up
LEEZ- Perfectly Imperfect
Lenn- Air Balloon
Le Manou- Fille A Papa

From the snippets my favorites are Grace and Le Manou. Le Manou's song is actually very catchy, can't get it out of my head today i'm afraid:p.

Jury NF: Gustaph, Merol, Emmilie De Forest & Bart Cannaerts
They also confirmed the songtitels of the other artists:
- Jelle Van Dael: 'Monster"
- Mentissa: "Desolée"
- Red Sebastian: "Strobe Lights"
- Stefanie: "Gloria"

Le Manou is the best out of these 4, but I have a feeling that this will be a disaster lyrics-wise. I mean many people don't understand French and they will misinterpret it.
Hopefully, she will show some vocals to impress the juries.

I think it will be allright for a NF. In Flanders we get French on school from age 11 and the lyrics don't seem to difficult. It's the best of the songs of show 1 based on the snippets.

I meant Eurovision, not the NF. I saw the title and I was like "is she singing about sugar daddy?" But the subject is actually the opposite.
Imho, she can win the NF. I guess such music is popular in Belgium.

She is singing a parody about Childeren that gets everything thanks to their parents. In Flanders especially, we have lot's of examples for that.
For example: Gert Verhulst(Dad)- Marie + Viktor Verhulst (Daughter + Son), Koen Wauters(Father) and Zita Wauters(Daughter), Margriet Hermans (Mother) and Celien Hermans (Daughter),....

People will be able to relate to the topic I believe. But i get what your saying for Eurovision

"Pull up" sounds quite enjoyable, but it's true, it is not very innovative. Nevertheless, there's a reason why this kind of entry is reproduced over and over again - a lot of people in the fandom like that a lot. Personally it doesn't convince me - we heard better versions of this song in the past

"Fille à papa" is the strongest song so far, but I'm expecting a little bit more in the second part of the song. Some sort of climax or surprise...

Lenn was vocally quite weak just before the chorus, which isn't enough to form an opinion on the whole act, but in a short snippet that has a negative impact on me.

LEEZ... I don't even remember anything from that song since.

Well, these 4 snippets do nothing for me, I hope the full songs give me more excitement, but I doubt it. So far this season, many NF/ songs are rather underwhelming. Hoping for more excitement!

Tumblr, mostly.
Well nobody is winning Eurovision with those snippets.

Nobody is reaching the final with those snippets.

The second set has to be better.

Well don't be a delusional do re mi fa se-se-serving kant!! I need this to be TRUE, and if you were in the audience going wild for a song whose chorus opens with "goooood moooooorning // it's such a gooood mooooorning", idk whether your judgment can be trusted...x

Songfestival.be released the co-writers of the songs
Lenn: Lenn, Willem Vanderstichele
Le Manou: Le Manou, Willem Vanderstichele
LEEZ: Will Knox, Loek Van Der Grinten, Philippe Nancy Generaal, Lisa Van Rossem
Grace: Grace, Willem Vanderstichele, Ameerah (Pre-elections eurosong 2023)
Jelle Van Dael: Udo Mechels, Lindi Konings, Willem Vanderstichele, Jelle Van Dael
Mentissa: Mentissa, Vianney, Lil Louise Musique
Red Sebastian: Red Sebastian, Billie Benstein, Ameerah (Pre-elections Eurosong 2023), Willem Vanderstichele
Stefanie: Stefanie, Jeroen Swinnen

Seems like Willem Vandersctichele has gained a lot of influence on VRT. He was part of the team for Gustaph last year. I am waiting for the songs of Stefanie and Mentissa. Vianney & Jeroen Swinnen are pretty good songwriters. Jeroen Swinnen composed Me And My Guitar of Tom Dice back in 2010 and Repondez-Moi (Switzerland 2020).

Info on the other songs from songfestival.be:
Mentissa: " Mentissa sings Désolée Written by: Mentissa Mpatha Ngandu, Vianney Bureau, Lili Louise Musique/La Passée Editions
From the press release: Désolée by 24-year-old Mentissa is a song about self-confidence: realizing at a certain point that you have to dare to be yourself more and that you don't always have to ignore yourself for the sake of peace. You can't do good for everything and everyone. The song resolutely says: 'I'm sorry that I'm not more sorry.' At the same time, that is a difficult balance because Mentissa describes herself as a sensitive person. That is a strength, but also a weakness, she believes. Mentissa also wants to make an artistic statement with Désolée. She sees it as the beginning of a new, more poppy time in her musical career."

Red Sebastian: "Red Sebastian sings Strobe lights Written by: Seppe Herreman, Billie Bentein, Ameerah A. Roelants, Willem Vanderstichele. From the press release: The 25-year-old Red Sebastian takes his chance in Eurosong 2025 with Strobe lights. In terms of sound, the song is an ode to the pounding beats of 90s rave culture. Strobe Lights describes the story of an exciting and thrilling club night where you know where it starts but not where it ends. The song is a masterpiece from a vocal technical point of view: it consciously shows all of the vocal abilities of singer Seppe Herreman, both in the high and low registers. With his astonishing voice, Red Sebastian wants to make a difference in Basel

Stefanie: " Stefanie Callebaut sings Gloria, Written by: Stefanie Callebaut, Jeroen Swinnen. From the press release:
Singer Stefanie Callebaut (37 years old) describes Gloria as an adventurous celebration of light and love. The singer welcomes the fact that those who have already listened to the song often describe it as a contemporary Bohemian rhapsody.
'Gloria is not a bite-sized pop song, it is a unique journey, an experience. A song of connection in which I consider myself a bridge between the song and the hearts of the people. In recent years it has been noticeable that the more special songs often end up high in the Eurovision Song Contest.I am therefore convinced that Belgium can make a big impression in Basel with Gloria," says Stefanie. It is perhaps not a coincidence that her own daughter also bears the name Gloria."

Jelle Van Dael: " Jelle van Dael sings Monster Written by: Udo Mechels, Jelle van Dael, Lindi Konings, Willem VandersticheleFrom the press release: The song Monster by 34-year-old Jelle van Dael is about the lesser things that happen in life, but above all about finding your inner strength to fight back and fight your inner demons. The story is partly autobiographical, but at the same time universal: everyone can recognize themselves in the song in some way. Jelle co-wrote the song herself because she thinks it is important that people get to know her better not only as an artist, but also as a person."

A contemporary Bohemian Rapsody, well that certainly lowers the pressure for Stefanie:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
