Do a lot of people in Flanders/Wallonia watch the ESC on Dutch/French channels?? I guess you can easily receive them in areas close to the border.

The latest finale of Eurosong 2023 was watched by almost 900.000 Flemish people and was the most popular programma on Flemish television that night. Although there are less people watching then the preselections in the early 2000's. But that's probably as well since it was the first revamp of eurosong after so many internal selections.

The eurovision final of last year was broadcasted by VRT. Belgium wasn't in the final ofcourse but still +- 900.000 people viewed the final of last year.

When Gustaph was in the finale in 2023 close to 1.6 mil people watched it.

So i guess there is a certain fanbase in Flanders. Im not sure about viewdata of the RTBF.

Yeah, I would imagine they have French and Dutch hosts (like they did at jesc 2005). Most likely venue would be the Antwerp Sports Palace (+/- 23.000 seats). VRT would probably pick Peter Van De Veire as a host.

The viewership numbers are much higher in Flanders than they are in Wallonia. Percentage-wise, not the raw numbers (which are always higher in Flanders anyway, as we are the larger community)

and no, we do not watch each other's channels much. I can't remember the last time I put on RTBF for anything. The last time I tuned in online might have been the Jérémie Makiese announcement because I was in charge of the Artist Reveal article.

I almost never put AVROTROS on myself, but it occasionally happens that my parents tune in for a documentary. I follow the Dutch Mole, even if the quality of it has been inconsistent the past few years.

I would guess the Loic / Tesoro / Blanche streak, followed by Gustaph's surprise 7th place. The better overal quality in winners, Joost Klein's participation. VRT was very involved into the marketing last year and that of course helps boost interest.

No idea what RTBF is doing on their end. It's certainly giving the impression they're phoning it in every year, which is how they got out of JESC years ahead of Flanders.

Seems like we have at least one song in Dutch in the NF. Quite a suprise actually, all her previous songs are in English.

I'm afraid I can't say that since everyone was obligated to sign a contract which prohibts them from leaking anything about the artists or the songs. What I can say is that there were multiple songs that gave me goosebumps.

Gucci Diamonds in the sky is such a "Yass momma slay" title lol. Hopefully it's more inline with the Finnish type of uptempo queer slayage (Hoida Mut, Kuuma Jaba) and less in the MBD ballpark of Makes Homophobia Great Again.

Lenn pretty much confirming through instagram his song title is indeed Air Balloon. Sneaky guy he is On his stories yesterday: "Went to this Balloon museum and made some eurosongvideos here with my song." One of the videos apparently is with Belle Perez

Some artists confirmed through instagram songs wont be released to broad public till after the second show on 25th January.

Although we will hear all the songs in the shows. So dont know how they are going to do that.

And apparantely there is online voting through VRT MAX on february 1st. So maybe you guys can vote too if you have an account.
