Artists will perform both their own song and covers of past eurovision songs.

A bit the same concept as the Eurosong 2016 preselection which Laura Tesoro won.

don't know if that has been discussed before but does anybody know why belgium is leading in the early odds? it's not a country that is usually automatically up high like sweden, ukraine or italy

Yeah seems similar to the maltese hype train some years ago. Considering how this year Musti was also suspiciously high at some point makes me suspect that there is someone who simply wishes the country to do well.

Guess for the jury in the finals, if there are not international juries. Only a few of them will be visible during the show. In 2023 the visibele judges were 4 judges ( Laura Tesoro, Jeremie Makiese, Nikkie De Jager & Aleksander Rybak).

The total jury of Eurosong 2023 existed out of 15 people, most of them hosts of radioshows owned by VRT. So based on that list my guess for this year jury would then be:
- Manu Lemmens (Head of Music at youth radio station MNM)
- André Vermeulen (Retired Journalist at VRT and author of some eurovision books, been jury in almost every preselection)
- Stéphan Monsieur(Frontman of the Eurovisionfanclub OGAE)
- Gerrit Kerremans (Music Coördinator VRT and organizer of Eurosong)
- Lesie Cable (Head of Delegation for Eurovision at RTBF)
- Laura Govaerts (Radio host MNM)
- Ann Reymen (Radio host Radio2)
- Korneel De Clerq (Radio host Radio1)
- Thibault Christiaensens (Radio host Studio Brussels)
- Jasper Van Biesen (Author + chief editor of songfestival.be)
- Maureen Verherbergen (Radio Host Q-Music)
- Ruslana ( She has been peforming again in the Flemish version of The Masked Singer at VTM last year, has been jurymember before at preselections of eurosong 2004, she keeps coming back to the Flemish television scène for some reason)
- Gustaph (Eurosong 2023 candidate)
- Laura Tesoro (Eurosong 2016 candidate)
- Duncan Laurence/ Jan Smit( as there needs to be at least one dutch jurymember in too probably)

Mentissa performed at the Christmas Concert of the Belgian Royal Family. She starts around 30 min break. Remember this is live , without any editing and just 2 days after her Eurosong recording

Songfestival.be apparently confirmed there will be snippets.

Probably next week then somewhere, as first show is ging to be broadcasted 18/01 ( broadcasting hour yet to be confirmed, we will know more 11th January)

Might also be a new trailer upcommig as i saw some artists post about filming a new eurosong trailer.

Sandra Kim is featuring in it. She might be a judge during the national Final together with Gustaph.

Artists will also sing a cover of a previous Eurovision song. So 8 songs per show.

Mentissa and Le Manou will probably sing a previous French entry. Would be fun if Lenn sings the song of his grandad.

It aren't real semis. More a show where they'll present their song a first time. All 8 participate in the liveshow on Feb 1st.

Btw, in December 2023. I wrote on another (Serbian esc) forum, before knowing anything that Switzerland will win 2024 ESC. This time, I predicted (before we knew the list of participants, also in December 2024.) Belgium or Iceland will win 2025 ESC! But first Belgium...

Songs will be released to the broad public 26/1, after the second show.


The artists will perform their song without staging and a cover in the (pre)-shows. These shows will be viewable online through VRT MAX, which is unfortunately not viewable abroad ( only if you're a belgian). But i'm pretty sure some video's will appear on social media of the songs.

So we(Belgians) will have the full songs available 18/01 & 25/01. If you're not a Belgian you'll have to wait till 26/1.

Edit: Snippet release tomorrow probably.

Peter Van de Veire hinted on his instagram about " Very Big news" tomorrow during his morning radioshow. He also released the artists through his radioshow with a similar post.

Seems like it Len did give us a little preview of his song on his instagram though. Might be a ballad judging from this.

The trailer i was talking about. Since you cant watch VRTMAX, you of course couldn't watch the trailer either.

You might not recognize her, but the first person in view is Sandra Kim. She has regained popularity in Flanders recently after winning the Masked Singer edition of 2022 as "Queen" on VTM. The lady together with Gustaph is Zita Wauters, she will be cohosting. She is the daughter of Koen Wauters, who is 1/2 of Clouseau. Clouseau represented Belgium in eurovision 1991. It's quite funny she is one of the new upcomming faces for VRT though, as her father is a very well-known screenface for competive broadcast VTM.

If they are going to do snippets it has to be tomorrow. Otherwise it isnt worth it anymore. First show is in 8 days. Maybe partially snippet release of first 4 songs of Grace, LEEZ, Le Manou & Len. And then next week of Jelle, Mentissa, Stefanie & Red Sebastian.

And a last rumor: Apparently there are rumors that LEEZ's song is in dutch as well, would be a surprise as all of her other songs are in English. Her brother Metejoor, who is a pretty famous singer in Flanders and the Netherlands, has got some meaningful popsongs in Dutch though. Maybe she went asking advice from him.
