Tumblr, mostly.
Worth it if it gets us an Eester Peonij moment
NOT IF YOU ROOT FOR COUNTRIES, YOU DON'T.

Also the last time she was on a panel it resulted in Clickbait winning over Baryak. We could be in for that, when she 12s Air Balloon.

Nope, I wasn't at show 1. I am 100% confident you will love the show 2 songs lol, anyways, believe what u want ;)
See, this is what I don't understand.

If show 2 is much better than show 1, then why not air show 2 first? If you're sitting on qualifiers or even contenders, why not IMMEDIATELY get them out to the fans so you can build up more hype and extend your lead in the odds? Tactically it makes NO sense to open with show 1 if show 2 is a lot better.

What I'm expecting NOW is for Belgium's odds to plummet. The best snippet is a juvenile french version of Kerrie-Anne's Sweet lies.

The gimmicky repetition of 'papapapapa' in Le Malou's song may also remind us of Indila's last original track "Parle à ta tête" – and EVERYONE wanted that song to represent France some years ago, even if it's miles behind some of her older tracks. I get the Kerrie-Anne comparison though (that should have represented UK in '19, obvs)!

I'm not really into the three other tracks, so I presume this show 1 will be an appetizer for a bombastic show 2, like what Finland seems to do this year with UMK. Hype won't fade this much and, honestly, it's a more interesting strategy to keep this hype high!

Okay, i have listened to the snippets now a few times and i don't think they are too bad. My initial reaction was "WTF is this" as well, but I think this is OK so far. We also still need to hear the bigger artists their song.

Grace's is obviously a girls bop that needs a great staging. She has good vocals, but im not sure if she is physically on point to perform what's needed for the song. We will see in the final.

Lenn's song : he sings offkey a bit before chorus but it's going to be a very radio-friendly song. It's a hard one for staging though. Curious how he's gonna do that.

Leez: My least favorite, but depends on the staging as well. The "you-ou-ou-ou-oh" could be a moment in Eurovision.

Le Manou: The chorus is very catchy. I hope the rest of the song and staging could bring it to a further level.

Overall for these first show its a decent selection, like a 6/10 with some songs that have potential and one that stood out for me so far (Le Manou's).

Combine these songs with a French Pop Song (Mentissa), A 90's dancesong (Jelle), A ravesong (Red Sebastian) and a probably ballad (Stefanie) and you got a nice selection which you can work with.

100% agree with you, all of them seem very radiofriendly and I think the overall quality is a good step up for VRT. I hope to hear some of the competing songs on the radio!! ;)

Views so far on TikTok (Although its not totally accurate as VRT is posting them through the day and Lenn's is not yest posted):
- Grace: posted first around noon: 32 K
- Leez: posted 1 hour ago: 20 K
- Le Manou: posted 40 min ago: 9 K

Seems like Leez is most popular so far.

It's insane how Belgians are able to gaslight themselves into believing they're doing a good job when they're not.

Darlings, stop. We are not Germans.

Based on the snippets, Leez probably got the only entry which might make Belgium qualify (they are too short to judge the songs, of course but I really expected something bigger/more competitive/artsy-fartsy/modern after seeing Beligum at #1 in the betting odds).
That's B side material at best (so far).

We do not hate, we only criticize ... that should be allowed?
Well yeah. Critic is good if you can actually do something with it. Like i didnt like the Albanian entry this year but I tried to post in what points they could improve in my view.

Otherwise it's just putting negative feelings and thoughts out there and lets be honest there are already plenty of that. Just posting : "Oh bad songs", Whats the point of that?

I see some of you like LEEZ's entry based on the snippets. LEEZ is not my favorite personally. I just feel she is a bit of a try-hard in general, or thats the image at least i get from her. But based on the snippet its a nice song and she sings it well. It could work for others with the right staging. I am probably not going to vote for it in the NF though, but also let's wait till the liveact to settle an opinion on it.

These snippets from the first group are so no promising.... :(

It seems it will be "the one players's game" here!

I had no idea you were holding a national final. Noticed Belgium were top of the odds to win and made the assumption Witloof Bay had finally made their grand return. After experiencing those snippets, I'd say this is arguably better. With these songs I'm getting flashbacks to our UK You Decide selections. Here though the budget has been reduced to €7.85 per performance and a Snickers. That's all it takes along with a dream.

I need to hear more of Pull Up (I almost accidentally said Air Balloon as it was written right below the video.. never would have been able to live that down). Grace is absolutely working that cane.

I really think I must be in a different world from the rest of y'all. I'm really enjoying these snippets--any of these make the final for Belgium, and they each could be the song that had Belgium top in the odds.

Grace has btw some Lingala sentences in her song, as a reference to her Congolese roots. Its not shown on the snippet.

So we even have Lingala in the Belgian preselection but probably no Dutch:ROFLMAO: ( or Jelle's one must be Dutch)
