Unfortunately, INK's entry didn't do that well, and finished second last. But it was great to have happy hardcore in a final.

For NSC 104, I think it's time for some Defqonian hardstyle again. This entry was originally thought as an entry for the covers and remixes spinoff, but the original has never been sent to NSC, which I thought was a bit surprising. I guess hiphop isn't a big NSC genre. This means the entry is a hardstyle remix of an old hiphop classic:

Regarding our AATW Albania entry, the spinoff is still yet to start.

I could, but I'm not really a fan of it. The only American rapper I really like is Eminem, but he doesn't make as many good songs as he used to... California Love is one of the better rap songs out there tho, but I definitely prefer Isaac's remix, which doesn't include the rap parts. I've also heard a trance remix, but that one isn't as good imo.

Balearica Radio presents the News!

Welcome to today's Balearican news. AATW Albania and NSC 104 are both yet to start, but another spinoff has been initiated. This time it's for short songs, which has been known to be highly unusual on . However, this weekend saw the death of Paul Walker, and as a tribute to him, the Fast & Furious edit of Wiz Khalifa & 2 Chainz - We Own It (the theme song from Fast & Furious 6) will be our entry in this spinoff. This is also sort of related to our NSC 104 entry, as he was born (but also died) in California.

R.I.P. Paul Walker, you will never be forgotten.

Welcome back to the Balearica Island news.

NSC 104 has finished, and once again, we managed to avoid the last place in a final. As suspected, hiphop isn't popular in NSC, our Short But Sweet spinoff entry also ended pretty low, and would (most likely) have ended last if everyone had voted. Also AATW Albania has finally started, and we look forward to see how that turns out.

has now had a very good run in the NSC, with 5 finals in a row. The question now is what to do for NSC 105. Do we send something we believe will qualify, or do we go for something more traditionally Balearican? I've been tempted to send the new Within Temptation song, but as WT was chosen very recently, I'm gonna hand that over, in case there's anyone else who wants it. We also have some Shakira on the entry list, but I don't feel this is the time for us to send Shakira. Instead, we go back to our very roots. In NSC 42, The Blizzard became Balearica Island's first NSC artist, and now it's time for their return. This time, it's with a beautiful remix of the Dutch act The Doppler Effect, which has a Pigeon Island singer on the team (Carol Lee, NSC 79). So our entry for NSC 105, and our 60th entry, is:

Nice matey - very long though, but that's just a personal preference of having my songs in more bite-size portions.

I see your point, but I'm going with a long version here for 2 reasons:
1, it's just that good, a 4 minute version wouldn't do it justice.
2, there are no official short versions of it, just versions that either fade in or out, or are ripped from radio, which I don't really like.

It's the same as the NSC 100 entry (The Spell), I went for the long version there as well, although that was mainly because the radio version isn't on YouTube, and I was too lazy to upload it myself. I was shocked to see it qualify tho. Would be awesome to see it happen again, but I've heard lightning never strikes the same place twice.

This one IS pretty long tho, it's actually an extended version of The Blizzard's remix, with the added intro part. It's not as old as you think btw, it was originally released in 2008 (and this extended remix in 2011), but I agree that it has an older feel to it. And I think that's why I love it so much.

Time for the news again.

The search for our next entry proved to be difficult. First, even tho I'm against Russia getting the Olympics in the first place, we decided to send something Russian, because of the ongoing events in Sochi. Then, a video I've been waiting for was released earlier this week, but I first planned to send that one in NSC 107, due to the Russian events. However, fear of someone else confirming it made me change that plan, but by then it was too late, the confirmation topic was opened while I was sleeping, and Trollheimr had already confirmed it when I woke up. And I won't lie, I'm very disappointed, because the video is very special to me, and because I will turn 30 next week, it would have been a perfect entry. We will however not go the same way we did in NSC 64, when something similar happened, so you won't see us withdrawing this edition. Instead, we're gonna work for a second music video spinoff, and send the song there instead (regardless of the song's result in NSC 106). Fingers crossed.

This means we have to go back to the original plan, which means the entry for will be:
PPK - ResuRection (known in Russia as ППК ‎– Воскрешение)

Maybe its just because i have known the LP-version for so long already and it just needs some time to grow for this "original"(?) version.

PPK and Luna Park both released these songs in 2001, so I don't know who came first, but PPK is not the original. That would be Eduard Artemyev - Siberiade theme (1979). Luna Park is very nice too tho, but I prefer the PPK version.

Ok, first I want to thank everyone for the points for PPK. Regular votes and reju combined gave a total of more than 100 points, and we were only 9 points away from qualifying. Thanks again, everyone!

Now, for 107, I've had several plans, but never really managed to settle on anything. But then, earlier today, I followed a link on Facebook, which pretty much immediately became the next entry for NSC. We're going back to the country from NSC 93, Japan, and we're going back to (sort of) the same genre as well. This is however, different. From pretty much everything I've ever heard before. In one corner, we have a Japanese girl band, aged 14 to 16. In the other corner, we have death metal. And then they became one. I bring you: Babymetal! xrockout
