The Austrian Participant will only be revealed next year. And Hyäne Fischer is suddenly yet in the closer Selection.

Eurovision became very safe in recent years, the only outrageous act was Conchita Wurst. Time to go bold again and challenge traditions! We did so well with Alf Poier and of course Conchita, why wouldn't we with Hyäne? Sending her to ESC would be a real sensation, despite of the impending doom of failure thanks to juries.

There are a lot of hurdles if she is selected. I'm just thinking about the loden coat on stage in Israel in May. She would collapse under the heat. On the other hand, what is more Austrian than Loden?:lol:

I just cant believe that Hyäne Fischer really is under consideration. the song is not really something special and the concept would not be understood in most parts of europe. Maybe she got a different concept for the stage or even a different song. Maybe they got another last minute song or artist. Maybe this time a well known artist they dont want to reveal too early…….. anyways, the time between the announcement of the artist and the song presentation is quite boring….. now we have more time for speculations…..

Can we stick to the facts please? ORF Clearly said, that the submission is considered in the same way as ANY OTHER BID. There is no closer selection and there is no suddenly. We know for about a week, that Hyäne Fischer officially applied.

The time-line (as far as I know) was:
Hyäne Fischer present themselves as chosen representative of the ORF - ORF denies that the entry is already chosen and says Hyäne Fischer is thus not the official Austrian representative (that's what you might have perceived as rejection) - Hyäne Fischer official applies to be the representative - ORF confirms the bid..... and now: xwait

but it is a fact that orf cut down the entries to just two songs in november. both obviously not from Hyäne Fischer.

As far as I know, it was said either a ballad or a duo. That doesn't mean two songs. That just means two sort of acts. They could have 3 duos and 10 ballads in the pool.

no, orf mentioned two songs. and i think it was end of august, when the rumours about sara de blue came up, when Eberhard Forcher explained the whole procedure, with 5 or 6 songs left in september and two songs left in november/ december. we all dont know what happened now, maybe nothing special…

Jesus Christ, what the hell is wrong with all of you this year? First I read this crap on Youtube, now even here. Tin foil hat much? I'm pretty sure the singers can choose their own songs in the (semi) final, just like in all the past years. But no, Germany hates it if smol Austria or Switzerland do well, that must be the reason why we didn’t win this year!... I smell a little brother complex xfacepalm

That being said, I would love it if a producer would pick up Matthias, dude has been my favourite this year and has an outstanding voice and presence on stage.
