Before I heard this song I thought it was going to be a joke (also thought she wanted attention).
+1 xshrug

i gave a 6 to the studio version. i found it "ok".
didn't watch any of the rehersals so i didn't expect anything from conchita (literally; i didn't think she would bring anything special to this year's contest)

but this live was just....wow.
and if u count in all aspects like the entire drag thing, the song that isn't new musical discovery and good but not fantastic vocals; u come to a coclusion that it's the emotional presentation that took over this entry and blew us away xshrug

I would understand the hate had she had the sand artist, but the beard?! Most people probably find it appalling whether they support the LGBTQ community or not, that is a fact. She took a risk on that and it ended up as a success, not because of the beard but because of the grand performance. ...Oh just to mention, I don't even like the song, but I got the goosebumps while watching her perform. Word.

Exactly that. The performance was full of passion, I think everyone could sense that. We all know Conchita is just a character but in those 3 min she made me believe in that person and in her story (ok I know this sounds cheesy  ).

I must admit, i have been very confident of a Swedish victory this year, but this song will give us a tough match for the victory. Although i still think Sweden is the big favorite.

This final will be every exciting, many countries have great songs and are capable to get good positions.
Sweden, Austria, The Netherlands, UK, Armenia and maybe Hungary.

Is this a personality contest all out of sudden? He seems rather ok though (not really a fan of milking the whole drag thing tough)... still though I'm no fan of the song and regardless of what many say, I still think the whole act is part of the success here and not the actual song xshrug

The two sentences weren't linked. I just said that I think she/he's a wonderful contestant ang great to have at Eurovision. I think it could get top 10 anyway. The song is not the best but the performance IS the best (unless of course one of the big 5 or Denmark take t but I doubt it). And in the end, the performance is just as important as the song.

I would love it if this song won! because I really like it, but I doubt it will.. a woman with a beard may not be what a lot of people would vote for in the most conservative countries

I noticed that. Maybe they panicked because of all the betting. One betting site said that because of the over whelming betting on the UK, if they win it could be their biggest pay out ever. I assume its been taken down until the final order is created.

Just so you know. I wouldn't mind seeing us win this year. It won't happen, though, and that makes me glad.

First of all, we Austrians have had to put up with Conchita Wurst (and his real-life predecessor) for the better half of the last decade, so winning would give him even more airtime on national TV and radio - we don't need him to be an even bigger stage hog than he is already.

Secondly, Austria would be the worst ESC host since, um, Azerbaijan 2012? Wait, no, way worse. We would be even more amateurish but without the money for fancy domes and graphics. I DO NOT want to experience an ESC in Austria and have to be ashamed of my country for a week or two. Usually our national football team does that job pretty well.

I think you're confusing sexual attraction with admiration for an artist
