dobra noc
omg, I just found the Austrian commentary.... that's really understating the voting events
Well, let's face it, Emmelie won by comparison, someone had to won. For me, 2013 was one of the weakest years.Emmelie de Forest had much less success than Conchita Wurst. Of course Loreen overshadows everyone, but I doubt something like Loreen is likely to happen soon again in Eurovision.
omg, I just took the pleasure of reading all the butthurt comments of September 10, 2013 in this thread xlol
13th September 2013 I can almost promise you guys that Conchita will collect votes.
can we agree on something here
lady gaga is queen of the world
conchita is queen of europe
Me too! I just joined this forum and have wasted hours of my life reading all the comments people made about Austria's entry before and after the contest. It was very entertaining.
Anyway, I was just thinking that it's a good thing this song won because it's a great song to open the next contest with. It's easy to imagine an epic choir version of Rise Like a Phoenix. Can you imagine a choir version of Calm After the Storm? And it would have been awkward opening the show with a song with the lyrics "Undo my sad" or a song about child abuse.
I wish I could fast forward to 2015 because I'm so excited to see what kind of show Austria will have.
This! Conchita is a gimmick act trying to sing "serious big ballads" (with rather limited talents), which is the main issue here. I mean it's no point to compare him to Verka etc. because those were gimmick acts with fitting "gimmicky" type of entries, in the Conchita case he acts all gimmicky but want to be "taken serious" with Whitney/Mariah-esque ballads... it just doesn't fit...
