"The inspired, logical choice for my replacement was Graham," Wogan wrote.

"Norton says my only advice to him was not to start drinking before song seven. He made it his own from year one - although I'm bound to say that the Bearded Lady who won this year, reducing Graham to tears, might have had a slightly different effect on me.

"I've always seen the Eurovision as a sometimes foolish farce, but not as a freakshow."

I like his humor but i'm not surprised about his comment about Conchita. He is really an old man, old but not wise.

Conchita's victory amongst most searched on Google in 2014

Conchita's victory amongst most searched on Google in 2014 http://www.escunited.com/home/conchitas-victory-amongst-most-searched-on-google-in-2014/

2014 saw Conchita become a global icon for LGBT rights – and Google’s insights into the year reflect that!
The story of Conchita Wurst and her victory has made it to be one of the most searched of 2014 according to Google Insights. The multinational search engine corporation has compiled a list of the most searched-for stories and people of 2014 with our very own Eurovision winner and the contest itself racking up 120 million hits on the website.
Naturally, being a huge international event the Eurovision Song Contest is always sought after on Google, but this is the first victory in recent years to perform so well in the end of year insights. Searches for the Austrian star also outnumbered worldwide searches for Beyoncé and Lady Gaga by quite a margin during May 2014, showing that once again the contest became a talking point for millions around the world.

Some interesting facts from the data also shows that Armenia searched for information on Conchita more times than any other nation – excluding her native Austria – and that 20% of related searches inquired about sausages. Other Eurovision related data showed that the Portuguese searched for the EuroMillions lottery results 9 times more than they did Eurovision, and that ‘LGBT rights’ spiked after the contest in May.
The EBU can be very proud of themselves for engineering such a successful contest in 2014 and one that will last on in people’s memories for years to come. Here’s to a prosperous contest in 2015 – can we find our next star in Vienna?
