I hope you both realize that you sorta confirm my point that Conchita won mostly due to political/social/media hype and not because of the song? And I see that as a problem tbh, because this should be about the songs and performances, not because of supposed political causes totally unrelated to the contest

Except it won for none of those reasons. It won because out of the contenders many considered it the best song. Even a lot of my friends who aren't Eurovision fans said they liked the song and it deserved to win. This is for sure not Running Scared MK2. While it isn't exactly my favourite recent winner, I can't argue that it deserved to win, especially with the live performance on the night. Great vocals and great presentation.

As for Yoozek's post...yeah, don't really know where to start with that.

The Serbian Patriarch said on public television that the reason of the floods in Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia is because the celebration and victory of Conchita Wurst in Eurovision, and that those floods in Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia are sent by God as a warning, for not respecting what's sacred, and celebrating what's wrong and shameful. And apparently, God sent that "warning" because he loves Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian people, and wants to point them the right way, and not what "Europe" is showing them the right way is...

TBH I wouldn't feel loved if my god tried to kill me or destroy my property. BUT THAT'S JUST ME, I GUESS. :'D

Why not? These three are the biggest Eurovision enthusiasts ORF ever had. So they'd deserve hosting the spectacle.

In 2011 to present, upon Austria's return to the Eurovision Song Contest, she has announced the points given to other countries from Austria during the voting phase of the evening. In the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 voting phase she appeared with a fake beard declaring solidarity with Austria's participant of this year, Conchita Wurst, who later won the contest. She is in line to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Austria which will be the 60th edition.

I must say I am really proud and happy that Conchita won, she is an inspiration for me and the song has a great message and I often walk around in my house and sing it. One of the best winners ever imo
