It is strange even for me...but I must admit that "Rise like a Phoenix" had one of my TOP3 performances EVER. (Right after Gravity, and before our boobies time). It was just divine...

Romania got 8 points. The jury ranked them #4 and the public #5.
Armenia got the 12 points, ranking at #3 with the juries and #2 with the public.

Since there is very little Romanian diaspora and hardly any Armenian, the vote looks true and fair. Besides that, ORF had whopping viewing figures, so the public vote seems rather representative.

The public gave the topmark for The Netherlands and the juries for Sweden.

Azis has been at ESC already in 2006 with Mariana Popova, he did fantastic job as a solo backing vocalist, the best EVER in ECS together with Aida from Albania in 2007! They are REAL singers unlike Conchita, who can't sing o save her life..

He wore a skirt and high heel sandals on the Athens stage..

not realy, the beard and the facial eyes hairs has coloureted and fixed, if you ask at your cosmetic make uper they speak that, but they can make the same at the vaginal hair, all this hairs have surgetic now.

Conchitas beard is real. You better should listen to what she actually tells in interviews rather than rely on rumours or assumptions. Of course, it's coloured to give it a more homogene aspect.

The fact that we now come to the point, that people want to turn down this fantastic victory by counting the number of the real facial hairs is just unbelievable. xrofl3
"She is unacccaptable because of her beard" - "Ok, she's got a beard, but she shouldn't win because of it". - "Ok, it was not only the beard, but it is not real anyway". Simply childish! There's a point in every discussion, where grown-up, mature people accept the achievement of somebody even if they don't like it.

And after so many qualified opinions (from great singers, music critics and other experts all over the world throughout the quality press) the "she can't sing" argument is just disqualifying anyone who still uses it.

Having said this, I just browsed some of the videos from Azis and I really would like him to represent Bulgaria! Perhaps not next year, because people then would probably not value his performance enough and would just call him a copy-cat of Conchita (which he's definitly NOT, cause his stage persona stays clearly male, despite the make-up and clothing!)
I think he's a good performer and I like the timbre of his voice. Though the few songs I've listened to don't demand a very wide vocal range, he sings powerful und I like the ethnic colour of the songs :D
