I think this song will do very well in the televote. There is definitely an audience for this type of song. At least among my casual viewer friends I see this being very popular.

Send another song. This song is too stop start, jumpy and basically like a vocal exercise to be saved, I struggle to see how the concept of it is actually any good tbh.

Considering Australia’s televote results the years they’ve been participatinng, I’m not overly confident to be fair - I know they can do well with the viewers and I hope Kate overcomes the hurdle!

If juries appreciate this for what it is, i wouldn’t count out a very good score with the juries :D

Everything can happen with this one, but I do expect that this will look great on stage at least

every time I listen I feel more and more like we're gonna nq lmao. I REALLY REALLY hope we qualify though because if SBS blames this on the national selection and goes back to sending dumb SHIT from DNA again then I think i'll die.

Oh dear, no no no
It would certainly be a loss if "Australia Decides" won't be a yearly event
So many great songs and performances this year

It's likely but I hope you guys at least qualify. Your national selection can be really amazing if SBS keeps doing it.

The problem is whether they will actually vote for Australia since their televote outcome was horrendous last two years.

I don't think the casual viewer would have any problem voting for this just because it's Australia. I think Australia's problem in 2017 and 2018 was that they had boring, generic songs that the viewers couldn't connect to.

I didn't care too much for Electric Fields' song as much as I loved the two guys and their amazing energy on stage. That's why I don't think it's a tragedy that they didn't win because they can always come back a different year with a song equal to 2000 and whatever (or even better) and win it all then. Now I just hope that they actually do come back...

Now I think that if "Sound of Silence" could do well with the televoters, so can "Don't Come Easy" and "We Got Love" - especially We Got Love
Now I do know that Dami delivered a better performance than Isaiah and Mauboy, but they also got worse staging although I think Isaiah's staging was well executed for what it was - Sacha Jean Baptiste will cringe when she looks back at what she did with WGL - I mean how is it possible lol
But later information tells me that it might not have been her staging idea at all lol

That being said, my suspicions that Australia had a disadvantage in televote was back in 2016 when Dami didn't win - and I might have been too blinded back then because I really think she should've won, but I still this day believe she should've won - I mean if you take a look at where she got the points from there were mostly northern and scandivian countries giving her some big points

I was meant to do a survey last year about Australia's participation in ESC for a school project I had, but dropped it
However where I live (and in Norway in general) there's a tradition to watch MGP and ESC every year and some of my friends, acquaintances etc... don't want to vote for Australia and that's the truth - and I don't blame them because I didn't want to vote for them back in 2015 either lol
If I were to give a number, I'd say around 2 of 10 of those I ask say constantly no to vote for Australia

So just to conclude this long essay I still believe that they can do well in televote, it's just that I'm pretty sure in my claim that they kinda have a disadvantage

To be different musically sometimes works and it's a good thing not to be mainstream, but for me this song doesn't work at all. The opera parts simply sound too strained for me, but other people might love it. Even the performance is too bombastic. Sometimes less is a bit more, I think.

I'm pretty sure Kate will be in the final, I see her as a sure finalist.

I love the song from the beginning and I will vote for it in the semi. Kate is an amazing artist and person too, I knew about her even before ESC. I am pretty sure "Zero Gravity" will easily qualify :D

And I will do my best to make that happen

I'm sure that she will qualify too and i don't get at all what people mean by calling the song vocals exercise!

Seems like there is no hype for this at all? That's funny since it's musically the only interesting entry Australia sent so far to ESC, and together with last year, their best entry so far imo. Do people really prefer their super bland basic stuff they sent the first 3 years? Well last year wasn't anything super original or anything, but at least it was uplifting and catchy enough (although destroyed with a bad live performance). Now Australia is continuing stepping in the right direction as they go from top. 15 for me in last year to a top. 5/10 this year... it's the best I've ever ranked Australia in and ESC edition so far... on the other hand this edition is rather weak and this is one of the few interesting songs but still...

As I expressed previously in here, not sending Electric Fields was a huge mistake since that would be a competitor for the win, but this is still a cute, catchy and quirky little gem that is different from the rest. It feels a bit as if whoever did this song decided that the two last Estonian entries were the best ever and made a baby out of the two

Will be interesting to see if the juries sweetheart will remain so even when they are actually sending something that isn't super basic for a change... if the juries will still support Australia then it would be actually fair for a change, but still a bit obvious that Australia is the driving force here... however if they won't then it's clear that they only prefer the most basic and blandness since that is what Australia basically always sent up until now ... and yeah... this is soooo much better than that overhyped Dami Im entry...

I completely agree with everything (except Kate was my favorite on the NF as well), but indeed this is much better than anything :au: sent so far. It's miles above Dami Im in my book.

:au: is actually in my top 5 from the start and it will stay that way until the contest ends regardless of the final score.

It's been in my top 10 since the release too. I loved this song from the start and it has never faded yet.
I don't get why this isn't more popular. I think it will do better than most expect here.
