I am sure that this song will be the flop of 2019 edition. Firstly, because they have better songs in the same semifinal with the same "weird" style and I really think that Australia is still strange for the europeans. The result of that is their flop televote voting in last 2 years.

I think the exact opposite. In last years they had subpar entries. The televote result will definitely improve. Besides, Zero Gravity succeded at beating Electric Fields with winning both the international juries and the televote (unlike Bilal for instance), so the jury vote won't be bad either. Result -> qualification.

I think the beef a lot of people have with this entry is the "crazy" staging. I personally enjoyed it, but I can definitely see how all those gimmicks together, from the human pendulum to the Liberty Statue outfit, made people see this as more of a joke-ish entry and not really care for it's message (which is actually a very different topic that is usually not widely talked about and maybe even frowned upon. Post-natal depression).
If they revamp the staging to something a bit more serious (while still mantaining a bit of quirkiness) this will increase in a lot of people's rankings. Plus Kate can really kill it live.

QFT!! Seriously, that live staging from the NF (costumes, scene, lighting, choreography) was all just so disturbing and I couldn't focus on the song at all. Now that I have a Spotify Playlist, this song is actually challenging for my Top 10 (from being around 30th or something like that) so if the staging can be improved for Tel Aviv I'd be delighted. xup

They've confirmed the staging will change and in the pictures shared it seems it's something more subtle with some coreography involved. And happening at the ground level too
So here's hoping this will come across better in May!

Great news! The comparisons with Estonia 2018 and even Romania 2013(!) should hopefully not be an issue in that case

I have always said I love the song but not the dress so I hope they will change it for the better and letting Australia get their, this time for real, deserved jury points! :D

After seeing the winning performance so many times I have decided - The performance is almost too Eurovision for its own good. it's like they're trying too hard.

I speak to Kate all the time and LOVE the song and I have high hopes for this song and hope she wins but I think that she may struggle to make the final. It's such a tough semi and it could go either way

It's all hinging on the performance. I think it would almost make more of an impact to strip back the staging so that she looks a little more vulnerable with natural make-up and a simple, light, flowing dress. That would make her voice shine and make her seem more ethereal and angelic rather than inaccessible and cold like she was in that big toilet roll holder/wedding cake statue...

At this point of the competition, I still think this could surprise in Tel Aviv and do something like Guy maybe

Funny how this thread was so popular during the NF period and once it was over and Kate won, the thread suddenly got buried under dead silence.
