there should be a rule where every australian contestant must have taken part in the soundtrack of dance academy xheat

Aussies should do a tribute for Sammy on stage
all of the actors - Dena, Xenia, Alicia, Jordan etcetera
S2 finale was so emotional

I love her little tirade about Sammy where she lashes out that he were a terrible dancer and that he wasn't as amazing as everyone said he was
ugh this isn't DA thread but the show was lit

I'm still in mourning over the fact we won't get Electric Fields xcry That entry was one in a million really, it would have undoubtedly been the best and most genuine Australian entry to date and probably the most outstanding entry this year. I've never heard anything quite like it in ESC before, and barely outside of the contest either. It was really something fresh with its tribal-techno-Pop, with some 90's and 80's inspired sounds thrown into the mix, yet totally fresh, futuristic and forward-thinking, yet extremely catchy and accessible without compromising itself. Every now and then we have those entries that you just feel like they are in a field of its own and has winner written all over them (even if they might not be technically the best entries, but they just stand out), 2009 and 2012 comes to mind but this year Australia would have had that entry but unlike some previous ones, this wouldn't feel specially made for ESC. I could have seen this go viral and breakthrough and become a hit in Europe over the summer, simply for being so catchy yet unique. Oh well... just wanted to have that said...

And your opinion of the song that won?

Too bad they didn't choose this. They went for the campy show that can do well but won't win. The polls and reactions don't bode well for them but I still think Zero Gravity can qualify. But I'm still gutted 2000 and Whatever didn't get picked. If it's chosen, Italy won't be my first now.

I'll come with the verdict later on that, I just had to express the loss for ESC here. There are always entries one could prefer over the chosen ones, but in this case it's one of those rare cases where you really feel like it's a big loss.

I didn't catch the live performance of Electric Fields, but I heard the chorus in the recap of the show and it's been haunting me all week until I finally listened to it in full yesterday (I liked the song before, but couldn't completely connect with it) and completely fell in love with it... I've been listening to it non-stop, yet now I don't even get to have hope for it winning. X-OI But I'm not mad Kate won at the same time, her song was my first until I saw the performance and now I just have a bit of a distaste for it, it's just too messy and too much, pls tone it down and make the song shine, I feel like it's buried under everything. The Eurovision kitsch is good and all if the act is not meant to take itself too seriously, but I understand it's a pretty serious song about overcoming depression, I feel they could make the message come through so much better.

I like this song very much (especially the part of 'hey you'), but please, that staging looks a scene of one of the many horror films I watch. Even if I love horror films, I'm not saying this is good in ESC XD

Hey, Australia. You didn't make the worst decision this year after the mess from yesterday.

Apparently Kate had her first meeting about her staging in Tel Aviv today which means that they’ve started the process two months earlier than last year lol

In 3 weeks is Delegation-Meeting. They have to submit their Plan already then.

Last year their delegation had no clue at all what they were doing lol because all of their ideas got rejected and Jess had no clue about her staging before she landed in Lisbon, so at least I have faith that they’ll avoid last years unfortunate mess where they didn’t seem to have a plan at all

Tumblr, mostly.
Yeah sounds like they're revamping the act, which is GOOD. Find an act that makes the song shine (as opposed to one which upstages it) and they'll be good.
