This is a good choice, I love this song! I thought Australia would go for a "safer" entry but I'm very pleasantly surprised and I hope it will do well :) I think this'll be getting my vote(s) (depending of course on the rest of the songs from the semi and the actual performance in Tel Aviv). Overall, I really enjoyed this NF - it has become one of my favourites so thank you Australia!

Gimmick music won xfacepalm this is why Eurovision can't move forward

Gimmicks have always been an essential Part of Eurovision and it should never get rid of those.

Tumblr, mostly.
I hated "La Forza" last year.

This is the moment where I'd post some Electric Fields (or KMH) gifs, but the finale performances aren't even ON YOUTUBE yet :-/ (despite the titles of the vids claiming otherwise. Keep telling me sweet, sweet lies, Ewtube :-/)

Lol, these poll results. The average rating is normal but I love how there's so little in the way of middling opinions (e.g. no 5s, not many 4s and 6s). Everyone's giving 12s, 10s and 0s

i understand wanting one of the more sober and competent entries to win (if we can call electric fields sober!) but i genuinely love zero gravity. it would easily stand on its feet without the opera vocals, even. the final minute is so perfectly jarring.

Thanks it's not Electric Fields.
But I'm still against Australian participation in Eurovision.

1 point for participating
Gimmick music? I have to laugh. Kate is everything but gimmick-reliant.

Talent prevailed! Incredibly proud of Aussies for choosing her. Straight to my no. 1 and 12 pts of course. She’s coming for BLOOD in Tel Aviv

What did I just watch? They're lucky to be in the first semifinal, this will be bottom 5 in the Final

I was willing to have Australia in my top 1. Now, they're in my bottom three for now.

Bad choice, Australia.

It will do well in televotes, though. :(

Hmm, what's up with Scorpio women and (p)opera at Eurovision: Malena Ernman, Elina Netsajeva and now this. I love the former, hate the latter and find this strange, but interesting. The song and voice themselves don't bug me, just the stage performance. :7: points for now.

Very meh... There were like 5 other songs I was rooting for but this victory is disappointing . Of course it's something for the Eurovision bubble and fanboys will be wetting themselves but for me it's just a very annoying song that doesn't go anywhere. And it's something we've now already kinda heard at various occasions at Eurovision... At first the song was quite captivating for me but after the second listening it was already very annoying. So nothing for me.

4 points for now.

I really like this song - maybe because it's not something Australia would typically send? It sounds creative and not generic

Okay! I wasn't sure because when I use the word "lovely" without explaining it, then it's mostly ironical. ;)

THE GOOD:
-As of this post, she has the best vocals so far.
-The instrumentals are at just the right volume to highlight the vocals and yet have their moments, too.
-Overall, it's a really nice song.

THE BAD:
-It's opera, which is a genre I don't normally go out of my way for.
-The stutter-singing is kinda weird, but as time goes on, I might get over it.

THE VERDICT:
This is a pretty good song from Australia. I think that with different and original staging, it stands a chance of winning. As of this post, it certainly is the best song so far. We'll see if it weathers the storm of the other countries' entries. 8 points

I am just listening to the full song for the first time.

It is quite interesting to say the least. For Australian but also Eurovision standards, it's an original and also a risky choice. So, I do appreciate that.

However, I did not enjoy it.

I don't like high voices, I am not fond of the stutter parts and the backing vocals gave me more life than the Kate Miller-Heidke herself.

So, it's original and edgy, maybe it has potential to grow, but it is not a pleasant song. And I want to go with my first impression this year, and give 7 points.
