Re: ARMENIA 2012

If you are accusing me of being anti-Armenian (Without facts), I guess you are Pro-Armenian..

And don't try to look bad them, this news was created by them and i just put with informative propuse.

Not accusing you, but it's not the first time. Actually I'm not "pro" or "anti" anything.

But you could find news against Armenia (and their participation) in Azeri news aswell, but you didn't post any of them with "informative purpose" right? So that's why I reacted at the biasism.

I agree with your point, I was just a bit upset. I wish it were a simple musical contest.

We all do, but you can't blame them for the very same political activity your country blatantly engaged in in 2009. Those in glass houses should not throw stones; look at yourself before judging others.

We Won’t Go to Baku as Martyrs, But ‘Risk is Always a Pleasure’: Armenian Rock Band Dorians on Eurovision Entry

Before the Azerbaijan factor, Armenian rock group Dorians didn’t have any intention of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest. The band’s singer, Gor Sujyan, conveyed this news to local daily 168 Zham (“168 Hours”), referring to Baku hosting this year’s song contest. Note, Sujyan has submitted the band’s song to Armenia’s Public TV, which will make the final decision on whether Armenia will participate or not.

“Today the Azerbaijan factor is more about risk and responsibility, and perhaps that’s what attracted us. We have our message through our song, which we’ll direct to the world, and why not, also to Azerbaijan,” said Sujyan.

The singer asserts that if the contest wasn’t taking place in Azerbaijan, the group would’ve never participated in Eurovision.

On the possible risks and hazards associated with going to Azerbaijan, Sujyan said: “If it’s been decided that Armenia will be going to Eurovision, for which a document was also signed — I don’t think that there’s the threat of physical danger. Perhaps there will be mental pressure or said on stage are bad words, catcalling; it’s possible they might even throw paper, but I don’t think that there’s a physical threat. Of course, Baku will be on alert that nothing is suddenly thrown on stage, but risk is always a pleasure.”

Nevertheless, Sujyan is sure that “they definitely won’t be going to be martyrs.”

To the paper’s question that their song “This is our world” has a clear subtext and, according to the artists, how will Azerbaijan respond when a call for peace is made to the world, Dorians’ producer Vahagn Gevorgyan said: “This song is sung for the entire world, where all people are in the same situation. Any normal human being wants health and peace because they want to be happy. Of course, we understand also that wars bring money to people — to put it another way, [war] is business. On the Internet, our supports have left such types of comments… For example, ‘What does it mean to end wars, cut the barbed wire? [Let them] give our lands back’. This is a sick approach. I think that if we are considered to be the winning nation in the [Nagorno] Karabakh War, then the approach of the victorious nation making calls of peace is more noble.”

The journalist also asked the lead singer about his political orientation in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, to which Sujyan said they are neither for nor against anyone.

“We have our own world where we live. There’s a lot of discontent in Armenia and smiles are few — it seems munnat [discontent] prevails among us. We like to sit on the bed, wait for fate, but you should act, work, and understand, what is the purpose of your life?” he concluded.

I don't find any negative news over Armenian participation in Azeri newspapels when the same Armenians show more their negative side (mostly) and some positive side on their media.. and why i will put the new here just for escalate more tension in an already existing conflict intro music contest..???

Re: ARMENIA 2012

Well, that is very strange. I know Emmy was for Armenian participation, that is what she was talking during the previous months. Then Eva Rivas told she could represent Armeia in Baku. And some of their artists not famous for ESC auditorium but named in the petition told they never signed or said anything against Armenian participation. This is all what Armenian users say in ESCKAZ forum.

p.s. This petition is nothing else but attraction of some attention on Armenia. Armenia will be in Baku, I believe they would not miss any chance to be at ESC in Baku ;)

Re: ARMENIA 2012

I already wrote that Armenians visit Azerbaijan for various political, sport and cultural events. Here is another proof that all these negative news from Armenia about participation at ESC is nothing else but farse...

On 17-19 April 2012 Armenian delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture headed by either Minister or Vice-minister will visit Baku and take part at Regional FAO meeting http://news.am/rus/news/94799.html (Armenian Press in Russian language).

In the same news it also says that Azerbaijan also participated with delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture in the previous event in Yerevan in 2010.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

I am not sure .I do believe we are quitting this year.

I don't thing that Armenia will drop out- (For much that i wish that) due that already ARMTV was aplied to ESC 2012, and if they quit will pay a fine to EBU or will get 3 years of ban of the competition as did with the Lebanon in 2005, bersides many people in Armenia want to take part, just to face Azerbaijan and make them look ridiculous in front of European eyes .

Re: ARMENIA 2012

Well Azeris do not care much. We say it is good if you take part but even better if you stay home. You can not expect us to be totally happy with your presence though in the end it is up to you to decide whether to be in or out.

yeah

Which is true.

According to Sietse Bakker Armenia did not withdraw and the EBU did not receive such letter.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

I wrote previously here that Armenia will hesitate till the semi-final. Now I am sure if they go to the final their media still will write about possible withdraw. I think all this hesitations from Armenian side is just good PR to get 12 points from ESC countries. They want to demonstrate themselves as a victims that came to Baku. Sorry but this kind of PR is not relevant to the contest. No more drams please.
