«This is our World»!

«This is our world»! This song the Armenian rock band Dorians has recorded for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2012! It doesn’t mean that they or this song is already chosen to represent Armenia. The choice isn’t made yet, but who knows, maybe now you’re listening to the song which will represent Armenia in Baku! The interview with these talented guys coming soon! Follow us!:)

This is actually quite a good song. :D

Re: ARMENIA 2012

As I expected, after the lyrics of the song and especially their interview Dorinans seem to plan a political game at ESC. Well they can do it but then don't complain about any boooo or anything alike. In that case you would deserve it well!

Really?? If you are about to see "political game" in such lyrics then we should ban ALL songs.

I said it before and I say it again: Rules state that clear political messages are not allowed, now you honestly suggest EBU should interpret every song and see if there MIGHT be a hidden message or metaphor for something? Who should interpret then? Azeri officials?

If a song won't be allowed because someone sees things in the songs which aren't clear, then we have a major problem in Eurovision i'd say. Azerbaijan didn't invent fire nor words like "Always" or "Running"

A-lister, come on man, don't try to show it as something innocent. That is more than clear why they use phrases like no more fire and so on... and if you don't see I am happy for you, have fun and don't be a stick in every hole. Understand?

And why the EBU was given permission to Russia to ban ''We don't wanna put in'' in 2009..??

If the Armenians will try to provke the Azeris with a political song in Armenian or in English with a hidden message, its better that they must re-thinking twice before do that... :p

If you want to see political stuff in that it's up to you, EBU can't allow a country's own interpretations to rule what songs should be allowed or not.

As I said, Azerbaijan didn't invent fire and as long as they don't sing "Stop AZERBAIJAN", then there's nothing you can do about it. These are the rules.

If Azerbaijan wants do dictate everything in this, then it's just a proof you're simply not ready to host this i'm sorry.

I was against that ban aswell, but it was may more obvious though than these lyrics.

However there have been songs with clear political messages before in this contest, much more than Georgia 2009, that weren't banned.

So Azerbaijan invented fire? I did not know... The rules are clear and this song does not break any rules. If EBU even does anything about this, then they are bought by Azerbaijan.

A-lister, it is not up to you to decide whether Azerbaijan is ready to host or not. If you dislike anything then simply boycott it in 2012 and then come back in 2013 if only Azerbaijan does not win twice in a row :p

I am free to speak my mind right?

If Azerbaijan is about to interpret songs how they wish and censor them or ban them (when they're not even breaking any rules in the first place) , then surely you're not ready for this (and I don't mean economically of course).

Anyways, will see if EBU will follow their own rules or some political oversensitive censor-machine.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

The same way Russia did it in 2009 ;)

I already said I was opposed to that ban aswell?

However there's a difference between "We don't wanna PUT IN... SHOOT I(n)" and "Stop the fire"...

The first was wordplay of the president's name, the second is about fire which Azerbaijan did NOT invent.

Anyhow, Israel was allowed to sing about Iranian bombs and Ukraine had a highly political song in 2005... none of these were banned and both were more obvious than Georgia 2009 and even more than the PERHAPS metaphors of an entry that hasn't even been confirmed yet.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

A-lister, even though in that case it was only put in (not even Putin) but in the song of Dorians "No more fire" (Land of Fire; Light you fire!), "Always is the same mistake" (Azeri entry 2009), "No more running" (Azeri entry 2011).

For me this is more than enough to say to whom their lyrics refer.

You have to be kidding me right?

The PUT IN wordplay is way more obvious, because eventhough written as two words, I think most people got the idea when they heard it ;)

As for those supposed "meanings" you put there it's not at all any obvious... Azerbaijan didn't invent fire, nor did they invent the use of words "always" or "running"... that's such a juvenile argumentation.

If we are about to look at songs this way, then I'd say Azerbaijan should just ban all entries and get over with it. I bet it's only because it's in the Armenian lyrics, had your dear friend Turkey sung the same, we wouldn't have such childish conspiracy theories as now would we? Even if they would change the lyrics, you'd probably find "new" meanings instead

So singing "Always the same mistake" is now somehow a political dig against Azerbaijan? ... just wow.. I guess alot of songs are subconsciously against Azerbaijan then..

Sorry but the Israeli song wasn't had a ovious subliminal message & the Ukrainian song of 2005, was forced to change the lyrics in order to take part..

Bersides the autor of the Georgian entry of 2009, wrote that song on purpose for Eurovision 2009. ..

I think singing about "bombs" is way more obvious than using lyrics which includes the words "Always" and "Running"

Yes, Ukraine had to change, but even in changed version it was way more obvious than the conspiracy theories about this supposed Armenian entry which DOES NOT BREAK ANY RULE WHAT SO EVER!

Re: ARMENIA 2012

Stick to the topic (Armenia 2012). Finally

Aren't we? We discuss the potential Armenian entry.

The Azeris here want it banned because it uses the words "Fire", "Always" and "Running" in a way they don't think should be allowed  (just reading this comment proves how silly some of these reactions really are).
