Hello, dear guys! We are very happy to talk to you! How are you doing?
To start with, please tell some words about yourselves.
We are the Dorians, musicians who want to make good music and working day and night to do it.
How and where did you meet?
Vahag: once I was in one of our armenian clubs with my friends, and there I met Gor. When I heard his singing, I was surprised and I decided to help him. Then we found other guys and made Dorians rock band.
Gor, your farther is a well-known musician. Did he influence on you? Did he help you and give advices?
Gor: I grow up under his music. My father advised me not to become a musician, considering it is difficult and not profitable, but I resisted. Of course sometimes I ask him for tips.
Gor, you have already been on the back vocal on ESC 2010 with Eva Rivas and you have an experience, what did you fill on the scene in Oslo and what do you feel right now as maybe namely you would represent Armenia in this ESC in Baku?
I was excited. Such a big stage, huge audience…it was a big celebration of song. I liked it .now I feel responsibility. If they’ll trust me I would do everything to present our country in the best way.
In opinion of all of you what is the main thing on ESC – the song, the vocal or the performance on the scene. And what will you pay attention most of all on?
For us everything is important. But most important is the song and performance.
What does ESC mean for each of you?
It is a big song festival, many musicians, opportunity to present your country and your music.
Will you collaborate with foreign or Armenian partners during the preparations?
Usually we do everything ourselves, and we like to get results.
Previous participants used Armenian national color in their songs, will you do the same thing?
Definitely no. We think, that there’s no need to use folk elements to have success. Harmony of our song is Armenian. We wish to present our song to all Europe , not only for Armenia and diaspora.
Do you follow Contests? What songs do you like?
Yes we do. Last year we were rooting for Italy, we liked Rafael Guallazzi very much. We liked also Alyosha from Ukraine, Maya Keuc from Slovenia etc.
Have you got conflicts with each other?
We mostly argue, discuss and come to a common conclusion, and so our songs are created.
Who do you like to sing with, if it is a duet?
Gor: I have a dream to sing with Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin).There are many famous and outstanding singers in the world, with whom I’d like to sing ever. Now we would like to go away the art topic and the ESC and touch a little Armenia and not only.
Could you say 3 words associated with Armenia and why?
Motherland, home, Komitas. The first two are simple. Why Komitas? Because we can hear pure Armenian music due to his efforts.
We are people living far from The Home and every time we are back the Ararat view is admiring us.
What feelings and emotions do you have every time you see the Ararat?
We proud of its. It’s a holly mountain, the most beautiful and important mountain in the world.
What place in Armenia/ NKR/ world you like most of all?
There are many places we love in Armenia — Dilijan, Tatev monastery ,Artsakh etc.
