Sweden also have second most 1st places and more 3rd places.

Soon, maybe already next year, Sweden will have most points.

You cannot possibly know that. I remind you the UK has the biggest music industry in the world with the USA, and it's only a matter of time before the UK returns to our glory days.

It's clear the bbc are taking it much more seriously this year, meaning for better results

It feels like I have missed something, what is the fight about here?

I think many can agree that Sweden will pass UK eventually, if not it is a radical change in BBCs focus on ESC and SVTs taste when it comes to picking songs for MF. :p
End of the fight, we have enough warriors as it is this year.

So basically you're telling everyone to agree that Sweden will take the UKs place? No thanks.

Sweden is the #1 music exporter in the world per capita.

Overall we are only behind UK and USA. Many of the american and british arists have swedish songwriters and producers.

The best result for UK recent days are 2009. Andrew Loyd Webber wrote the song. Still Sweden has many better placements than that. What are saying that BBC will take it more seriously will bring back the glory?

Well, and how you know UK get back the glory days??? Sweden has two victories since UK's last win. Sorry but UK will not get their glory back. Can they win some day?? Sure they can but with do many countries it's much harder to for well today.

I am just saying, according to the last years results, that Sweden has done better than UK, it has been so since 2010, when we missed the final. If this would continue, then Sweden will pass UK in that list. But it can change fast, suddenly Swedes select the wrong songs and UK suddenly takes the contest more serious and send a few great songs and maybe even win, if not in Vienna, then 2016 or 17. Will be an exciting match between the two of us for the next coming years! ;)

Per capita means nothing. Is Jessie J Swedish? Ed Sheeran? Marina and the Diamonds? The Beatles?

Last year, with Molly, the BBC proved they are ready to make a comeback. We dominated fan polls, but in the contest we failed to do so well. Yet it was a start. Hell, we might even be having a National final this year.

Super girl you're taking this far too seriously.

I'm taking this too far?? What about you??

Capita means more for me, but even without it Sweden still is 3rd.

Take look at this article before you are screaming about how superior UK is.

Why Swedish pop is the best in the world - The Local

Lol, last year did UK comeback?? If you call that a comeback then UK really have problems!! Ha ha ha!!!!

Fans polls don't mean anything if the entry failed in the real contest. Also there were most people from UK that hyped their entry in those fans polls.

1/8 of all albums sold are British worldwide. 9/10 of the best selling albums of last year were by British. The industry here is worth 3.8 billion pounds.

Last year was the start of something big. Children of the Universe was in no doubt a strong entry, even if you didn't like it. Just wait until the beeb reveal our entry plans this year.

Lol. We hear that from UK fans every year. Children of Universe was only hyped by UK fans nothing else. If it was so great then why didn't it do better in ESC??

Going by that logic Charlotte Perrelli had a bad song too. You think the results always reflect the decency of music?

Once again, you cannot hide from the facts.

Well. Not good enough to win the contest at least.

You can't hide from the facts. Your beloved UK isn't that superior as you think it is. It's just matter of time before Sweden pass my UK in all time scoring. Every year UK people want to believe they will get their glory back but then they still fail in ESC.

You can think that. I suppose you won't want to come to Norwich next year when the UK wins worth record points and Sweden flops. No country can go through Eurovision without coming down from the top.

I never said the UK is superior, I just said we're bound to have a comeback at some point with the big music industry we have. It can only get better for us.

Well, does not matter how big music industry the UK has, because they sure aint using it in this competition  #Engelbert

UK is like Sweden in JESC, they don't get the competition anymore. Returning to the glory days you say? Why you are sure taking your time (2 1/2 good results in 14 years)

Let's all keep in mind that we're all argumenting (what a forum is for) and not fighting.

Ever heard of Avicii? Icona Pop? Tove Lo? First Aid Kit? Swedish House Mafia? And since you're gonna pull some oldies, ABBA?

Since Sweden is the 90th most populated in the world, with #3 in world music industry, you got to give us some cred.

You're a little late, aren't you? At the end of the day we won't know anything until this years Eurovision, so why waste our time? I think the UK are going to come back with a bang, being British, and you don't, being Swedish.

(Just saying, most of the acts you mentioned rarely chart or are hasbeens. The only credible mention was Abba).

Carrie I would just give it up. There is no having a rational discussion with SuperGirl without turning it into some sort of Crusade of hate against Sweden, and constant cherrypicking of facts. It's a complete lost cause.

I don't think UK can keep the top spot much longer, no matter how big they consider their music industry. Or has anyone heard that Adele, Sam Smith or Bastille are going to Eurovision anytime soon?

Of course they wont do it. We've been over that particular line about 60 billion times. I'm sure there is artists in Sweden who wouldn't do eurovision, and I know for sure that there is plenty that wouldn't touch MF with a barge pole. I expect that we will probably lose our top spot, because it takes more than 2 years to sort out the damage of the past decade. But there is no reason why we can't recover and take it back in the future.
