It is not terrible, but not too great either. I heard it about 5 times, and I still can't remember almost anything. That practically says it all.

2 points.

The first one (with the silver dress and wavy hair) is the cutest, and I loved her photoshoot video xlove Hersi seems quite friendly and charismatic. I can imagine her being a big hit with the press and other contestants once we get everyone together in one place.

I believe so too Pink. She reminds me a lot of Rona. She's so sweet! She talks with the fans - I mean just wow. I can see we'll have an amazing press conference here! :p

Wow, you really can't let it go, can you? She'll go Albanian or English and she'll make her own mind up what she thinks is best.

No I can't let it go...

And also I highly doubt that decision is only hers, she's representing a whole country and a broadcaster, not just herself. Atleast in Sweden SVT and the MF team are involved in decisions like language in ESC, and I think it's the same for most countries.

OK then, she and her team will decide between them. Either way, It isn't our call.

So? xshrug

If that's how we're gonna argue now, then I suggest everyone to simply stop writing their opinions on any entries or anything else ESC related for that matter... because since we have no actual influence, it means we can't have opinions? xshrug

I never said to stop saying what you feel, but you act as if constantly saying the same thing over and over again will actually make a difference. Maybe she will stay in Albanian, or decide in the end to go English. Either way, It won't be because of what ESC fans want.

Actually, there's been cases in the past where fan pressure DID have an impact on issues like these (Magdalena Tul and the Polish entry back in 2011 comes to mind. They decided to send a new version in English, BUT re-changed their mind because of the fans... and they even admitted that!), so I wouldn't underestimate the power of fans. Sure, chances are narrow, but they are not non-existing.

I'm pretty sure the same thing happened with the Moldovan entry last year, and if I recall things correctly there were talks last year to translate the Icelandic entry for ESC, but fans lobbied for the entry to stay in Icelandic and it did. It could all be coincidences, but I do think that some acts and their teams do look into forums and discussions like these and some do pay attention to reactions like these. I mean you hardly win over any new fans by totally overlooking what the existing ones are saying... xshrug Hardcore ESC fans may not be the majority of voters in ESC, but they are good at creating a pre-hype and word-of-mouth (good or bad) prior the contest, which can later on be helpful (or the opposite) for the entries actually.

I agree, we as fans actually should fight to make our voice and opinion heard. Obviously the delegations then decide whatever they think their best call is, but we should at least try to give them an idea of what we want as fans and supporters!

I think what happened with Moldova last year is that they were planning on going to Eurovision in Romanian all along (they announced it one day after the NF, if I remember correctly), and competing in English was just an underhanded business move.

Interestingly enough, everyone I have seen expressing a desire for Zemërimi i Një Nate to be translated into English so far, with the exception of Hersi herself, didn't like it in the first place (on other Eurovision sites and Youtube, not necessarily here). Would somebody who doesn't like it musically change their mind if it were in English? No, obviously.

Yeah, you're probably right about that (although the massive fan reaction against the ridic English version probably helped them change their mind quicker). As far as I know the Romanian version was in fact the original one, but for some odd reason they deluded themselves to think the English one would fair better in ESC and therefor took a chance with that one at first.

I am not really following your comment, I think there's a majority amongst the fans that want it to stay in Albanian, but Hersi herself are in two minds on it.

I think part of what's make it likable is the Albanian, it gives the song a certain edge and character which it would lose in English.

Well, if they listen they'll probably listen to some sort of general opinion rather than single fans, but it's obvious that the ones that screams the loudest are the ones that will be heard the most
