Weird song...but somehow, I think it works. I really hope this gets a good production because I believe it has potential. It seems like out of a strange fantasy movie and I truly enjoyed it.

7/12, maybe more once I hear the studio version.

I fell asleep last night watching the show....

AND THEN I WAKE UP TO THIS NEWS!!!!!!xheat Oh my goodness I am so excited. I wasn't expecting this to win. Another classy yet daring entry from my favourite Eurovision country. This makes up for the terrible disappointment I suffered with Ukraine's selection. Herciana is wonderful!

One doesn't have to understand a language to get a feeling from a song, good music speaks for itself and the different languages add dimensions and "personalities" to music with the help of their certain melodics and characteristics. Having a language that is different from many and that aren't understood and spoken by many imo can be used as an advantage because it's different and exotic! In ESC we should emphasize and promote what makes our nations diverse and rich, not homogenize everything and make it fit some sort of forced "norm". Europe is a rich continent and this should be celebrated!

This is sorta 2012 all over again, and that turned out to be Albania's most successful entry to date! I'm not saying this has the same potential, but it's an interesting comparison.

It's refreshing when countries dare something for a change! The language has to stay! Sure a revamp is needed, but there will be one because they have to cut it anyways...

Musical and linguistic diversity ftw! That is what ESC should be all about!

LMAO. Calm down.

You misunderstood my post. I have nothing against languages other than English being performed at ESC. But language, as mostly everything else, can be either a positive or a negative. The truth is, having a song in English make it more accessible to a wider group of people. I'd argue a mediocre song is best served in English, because even if people don't connect to anything else about it, they can at least understand the words and thus, connect somewhat through lyrics. In my opinion, this is a very mediocre song. It has no melody and no hook, that's generally what people respond to. Combine that with that fact that most won't understand the words either, and I don't see who will actually respond to it. It's no Kuula or Nije Ljubov Stvar. Those were beautiful and melodious.

I guess one could compare this to Suus. It's true, I had similar reaction to that one, but they improved it and 'commercialized' it a little with the revamp. I remember watching the music video for it for the first time and it 'clicked' for me. Additionally, it had those amazing screams that meant people couldn't ignore it. The whole thing was just effective. I suppose they can transform this entry too. But as I said before, in its current state, I don't see it succeeding.

WhoKnows, if this one has no melody, then i don't know what does
The melody is extremely beautiful, it's stuck in my head and i cannot wait for a good studio version.
Beautiful. Just gorgeous. The girl, the instrumentation, the melody, the voice, the language.
12 points all the way.

1. Albania
2. Ukraine

A harp could be interesting. I think the song could bring forward more of it's folk influence. It's hard to say really what could or should be done to it as it's an unusual song. The guitar I think compliments her powerful vocal. I love the instrumental at the beginning. It's really epic and could provide the perfect backing to something visual on stage at the contest. I think as far as Albanian songs go, this one is in a very good shape as it is now. I'm interested to see what exactly they are going to do to song. Shortening it might be problematic but I had the same worries for "Suus" and the revamp on that was masterful.

Ummmmmm no, this one is whiny and the melody is primitive.
Instrumentations is nice, the guy himself is underwhelming, his voice is not good enough and he looks nervous.
Yes, they made the right choice.

That was a power ballad, and quite a decent one at that, of which there are always plenty in eurovision. That's what I love about Albania, they are never afraid to take risks -without being stupid -, they never fall for what is easy, safe or conventional even if it costs them the final.
They are a unique case in eurovision and you gotta respect them for that xbow.

Albania… A masterpiece in 2012, an excellent song in 2013 (though it took a long time to grow) and now a somewhat haunting song with a few interesting hooks that instantly catch my interest and leave me wanting more by the end of the song.

I can only like this. No idea what's going on in the intro as I fail to see any connection in the transition, but the rest of it is simply good. It's likely to be high up in my list when all songs are selected, and if I still like it at that point and it isn't, 2014 will be one of the best ESC years in history, so it works out either way.

I like it. They always make changes in order to improve their entries so I'll wait for the final version, but this sounds good! :D

Here is the video of the actual live performance last night:

The one on top is the video of the victory performance, always a tiny wee bit scarred by understandable joy, as they usually are :)
