For example Germany's (and I guess that applies for almost any country) past entries are all selected in a democratic way, and the majority of Germanys citizens and most Europeans always disliked any of our past entries. But nobody came up with the idea: Ok, seems as if that song won't do well, let's give a sh*t on the votes and try another one!
I don't care about Germany. That's your problem if you dislike your song and you do nothing.
We've been complaining since December and because of presidential elections the old NTU officials were fired only in March so your accusations a-la " Ok, seems as if that song won't do well, let's give a sh*t on the votes and try another one!" simply do not work ;)

ps. leave your political opinion to yourself. People don't choose the Head of NTU. And ACTUALLY we had presidential elections in January and February and we changed our government that changed the Head of NTU  so according to your own logic we did the right thing ;)

DELETED - refer to the forum rules

It is against the rules to criticize or offend any of our members, we're all here to have fun and nobody should be attacked or talked down to.

3. I think it's obvious that my last few sentences are an "transfered" example. But again just for you: It's no political opinion! It was an example. Period.

I'm wondering if it's so boring in Ireland that people go here and discuss something which they supposedly boycott
Thank you for caring about our schedule but we will deal with it ourselves ;)

Aleks, is it true that their will be a 3rd NF 29 march?
It's a load of bs.
Officially we have time until Friday (according to NTU). Unofficially (accordig to the 1st vice president of NTU) the song will be sent tomorrow.

Omg you literally pounce on anything! It was a simple question that didn't need your sarcastic reply! I look forward to Ukraine's new song but I dread your response should anyone feel anything other than good things toward the song as whatever judgement people make you will accuse them of disliking Ukraine as a country, disregarding their taste whatsoever.

^ omg, at least I don't wish them disqualification and I don't say that their broadcaster is a load of poop and btw - I didn't label all people who disagree in being against my country ;)
when people say something like that about our national broadcaster or if they wish us disqualification I'm gonna reply like that, like it or not ;)
The way how we choose our entry is our own business. It has nothing to do with rating this entry in May.

Re: ??????? - Ukraine 2010 - Alyosha -

The video is ready, according to Alyosha herself.
It seems that she wanted just to promote herself on the NF, she didn't believe in her victory. She was preparing for the New Wave (????? ?????) fest but because of ESC she had to cancel these plans so we won't see her on the biggest ex-USSR festival.

Ok, so if I understood correctly the Ukainian song should be known on Thursday (right AlekS?) - 3 days late, but if the EBU allows it (despite the rules), who are we to blame Ukraine for it right

So finally the voting can start again... with Ukraine in the game.

Oh and to the Irish, Belgian, English, German and other members in this thread who speak of DQ over this 'chaos'... don't waste your time on it and remember just 1 simple EBU-rule: "Rules are bent to serve some... but usually just end up broken".

I hope you will understand that according to the rules we can also pay a fee. But you chose do not pay attention to this for some weird reason ;)

and btw, EBU has already allowed us to change our entry according to their rules ... or is it even mentioned in the rules, that we can't change our entry?

Don't worry, I'm sure that people from this forum are able to respect EBU rules here and EBU's decision.

I did read somewhere Ukraine is indeed charged to pay a fee... which is correct. But normally such fee should be only asked when a country was asked to change a song (for any reason) AND (therefor)/OR didn't live up to the deadline. This is the case with Ukraine... but why they were allowed to change their first choice I can't understand. I haven't heard anything on that song being rejected by the EBU (or did I miss that part somehow?)

So this is the actual situation:

1. Ukraine presents it's first song
2. Ukraine changes song and artist
3. EBU rejects 2nd song
4. Ukraine organises 3th NF
5. Deadline
6. Deadline +3days (and + fee) Ukraine probably will present official song for ESC

I don't get step 2 to be honest. Changing a song (chosen by the public?) towards another that on its' turn gets rejected by the EBU (plagiarism, etc.?)

It's our right to crtitize it since the big 4 are the biggest financial contributors to the EBU; without "us" the ECS wouldn't exist. I want my money back! (don't take it serious :p)

Nope the rules say that such fee should be taken when the entry is not delievered in time.

NTU has a right to choose/change entries. They can do whatever they want -> according to the rules EBU doesn't intrude into NFs, they can only give consultations.

EBU approved the 2nd NF. According to NTU + Eurovision.tv posted few articles about our NFs etc...
The thing is... EBU didn't write in the rules that the 2nd NF is prohibited or chnaging the entry is prohibited. They clearly indicated that this is up to national broadcasters.

The official reason for changing another entry is not plagiarism. It's been juridically proven by American Copyright organization (that's where the song was registered) and by experts from the EBU's side.

ps. There will be NO 3rd NF. The song will be sent today.

Ok, I take it you're talking about the first song of Alyosha here? Then why had it to be changed? And why was that song of Vasyli (I hope I got the name right?) changed to begin with? I suppose that has been an internal descision of NTU?

We don't need any new NF's. We have already chosen our entry. As for the song I'm trusting fully to Alyosha and her taste to choose the song by herself. I'm sure it will be good song. (and people voted for her could be sure too)

Re: ??????? - Ukraine 2010 - Alyosha -

Muireanne, I think you should ask NTU. The official reason is that they wanted to host the open selection considering the fact that previous NTU management lied to performers about internal selection. + they (previous NTU management) said that only 5 performers applied for internal selection ... 67 performers applied the 2nd NF in just few days. No comments.
Of course this is the right of NTU how they wanna host selections. Ukrainians can disagree and NTU can listen to people and change the performer. This is their choice.

As for Alyosha... she recorded To Be Free in USA. She came back to Ukraine. She writes/composes for many performers and musical projects here so she kept doing her thing and saving her own songs for the album. The song was published by American record company in May 2009 without her permission, they also own "her" myspace (though they couldn't even write her name properly  ). Alyosha found out about it right after the NF and she was shocked to say the least.

NTU held negotiations with EBU about this and EBU allowed us to change the song. After all, all of this happened before the deadline.
Alyosha recorded brand new songs in the same day, demos. NTU chose the one and she continued improving it in the last day of the deadline.

Ok, if that's the case the fee should be enough. In other press releases things were put somewhat different... but I guess it's normal hear-say stories tend to change a bit from time to time.
So, on Thursday the group should be complete... and we can finally start voting in the Ranking Game again.
