I never saw a HUGER dissonance between the reception in the community and the reception with the overall audience. I mean, yeah, the Eurovision fan is a bubble and sometimes we got it wrong, but this is one of the hugest differences I've seen. A generation gap? Are we that old?

Well I admit I wasn't reading in depth I didn't have time to follow MF this year but it was the impression I had got the times I had checked in to this thread :p Maybe it was just his name being mentioned, I presumed it was in a positive light

30% of people gave it a 0? Really?

I wish the voting were public. Some people need to be dragged.

I am usually not that extreme in my opinion, but this song is truly terrible. Anna Bergendahl was brilliant compared to this.

I'm hoping that your public admission of the fact that you don't vote objectively is shameful enough. It would be for decent people.

I have to say I'm genuinely curious as to when this took place. Happy either to defend or rescind my supposed "public admission of the fact that I don't vote objectively" if you can find it.

I've been on this forum a long time now and I never recall Sweden getting majority zeros before :p

Admittedly, it is ridiculous that it has majority zeros, it clearly is not a 0. But when things are "hyped" you get lovers and haters, when in fact, the hyped thing is somewhere in the middle. It's not just Sweden who suffers from this fate, I know it well ;) It just so happens that this particular hype appears to have more haters than lovers among fans, but I doubt that will end up with nul points on the night ;)

Who could have foreseen one year ago that the UK would be immensely popular compared to Sweden in 2016?
What an unusual year this is...

Objectively speaking, this is not a 0 song.

If you think so, that's great. It's obviously someone's bag (yours and certainly a lot of others), and I respect that, nay, I celebrate that this song has someone who really enjoys/appreciates it. But it has nothing that I enjoy or even appreciate, so I gave it 0. Am I supposed to bow down and accept that I'm wrong and that this song definitely has value? If so, then what's the point of listening to the songs; I could just read reviews of each of the songs from some oracle somewhere that tells me what to think about each of them.

Is there already a petition to have Frans disqualified for plagiarism?
The video I watched comparing this to another song was pretty convincing.
Since there was a fuss about Cascada three years ago, the similarity between these songs cannot just be ignored.

There have been cases of plagiarism, but If i were Sorry is a shameless.... Faithful copy of the original, this is an extreme case that needs to be severely punished by the law.

Sweden you became the MOST Stupid country for 1 day, for Letting Ace go, you would have guaranteed a back to back for your country, but you thought on your own pleasure first instead of your future.

I don't even find it all that. I hope it doesn't win. I just think if it weren't a frontrunner, it wouldn't have had all these zeroes. I also wonder if it being a threat to another frontrunner with a strong contingency here plays a role?

Not a fan of Frans' song, but I don't think the plagiarism charges are going to get rid of him. Yes, there are certainly suspicious similarities in that little pre-chorus bit, but it seems like that's the only bit; even the 'comparison' video just loops those two or so lines over and over for four minutes. If the EBU didn't do anything about Glorious, I doubt they're going to take action on this, especially considering how rarely they take action against any song to begin with.

I've said my piece about this as a song but am perfectly willing to put it aside to say that plagiarism accusations are usually ridiculous confirmation bias-fests, and this is no exception. It can be a derivative and unoriginal composition with nothing new to offer. In fact, I do think it's a derivative and unoriginal composition with nothing new to offer. But they're only the same song when looking for things that make them the same song, which can be done for any two songs on the planet.

Ok, first time I heard the song...

I find it rather uncomfortable but somehow catchy. It's a weird combo. That might be a problem as it delivers weird atmosphere while listening to it.
Also, it seems like it's almost...empty. Not sure how to describe that.

It might be a ok-ish radiotune but as far as esc goes...I doubt it can go places xshrug

Feelin generous so I'll give it a 5.

Objectively? This is a song contest. Everything is purely based on opinions. For me, this was a zero as soon as I heard it. This is the kind of music that makes me wish I had a rusty screwdriver nearby to make sure my ears could never hear anything like that again.

So that's my public admission. I gave it 0. It seems that I'm not a decent person, as I feel no shame over it.

Some guy on on the internet doesn't think I'm a decent person. xcry1
