"I'd also like to add that Eurovision is in great health, and that reports of it's death are greatly exaggerated. It's ratings in the UK were the 2nd highest in a decade."
yeah it was 100% for Conchita taking part ahahahaha
It was cause British fans expected good result of their entry, even victory..
It was never implied it was about Conchita.
Do half of this forum even read?
I'm still so sad about this winning over some truly amazing songs1
It always was a rubbish festival in just a bit more intelectual circles..
And to be honest it is..![]()
anti gay/transgender groups are being very vocal and getting support =/How are people reacting on your countries?
In Portugal, even though we gave Austria 12, the comments on news articles and stuff are mostly completely ridiculous.

Just to be sure, Conchita is a drag and not a transsexual right? And if it's a drag, is it a 24/7 act?
I obviously would have wanted The Netherlands to win over this, but I am happy for Austria after their 46 year wait of an ESC victory
We're still waiting though, also since 1975 already...![]()
The crowd waiting for Conchita at Vienna Airport

I disagree wholeheartedly! Did you actually listen to her voice? The song? It was incredible. She commanded the stage more than anyone last night. Fact. You should be moaning about Armenia coming 4th - he was shocking and barely sang a note right...! It's a massive step because it was ALL about the song. No gimmicks, no dancers, no trampolines or roller bladers...she stood there and did what few did! So she had a beard? So what! Most entrants would be passionate and emotional! She has the right to, just like anyone else!I agree that it is a massive step, but backwards. And I thought this was Eurovision SONG Contest.
Not to mention her tears and other fake emotions that were just a part of her marketing and propaganda that lasted from September 2013
I am pretty sure that even if Conchita sang "Moustache" (I took that example becauseended last), (s)he would have still won the whole thing. Just like I am sure that this song will be forgotten in a week at most.
.
The Austrian commentator was crying three times because of Conchita's victory. When he landed on Vienna Airport the captain said "It was an honour flying you home, Conchita" and Andi Knoll sobbed....![]()
