Mii11 Not realistic prediction IMO. If Estonia and Hungary do not qualify I will be very sad but you will be my guest for a virtual beer.

I think Hungary will probably qualify. Keep in mind that Hungary was one of the first countries to perform in the random draw I made beforehand (they were performing just after San Marino, which was first). Also I was a bit biased because I am not a big fan of Freddie's song (my favorites in A Dal were Olah Gergo and Kallay Saunders Band). As for Estonia, I think it will get lost as there are many good songs in the semi. Having said that, I think this semi will be quite unpredictable so I think we will all be surprised by some qualifiers.

BTW I don't like beer, so could you give me a cup of tea instead (in case I was right) :)

Well my latest calculation (22.03.) got me this result. Just to explain my system: I'm using a formula of the voting patterns from the last 10 years and the Top 10 betting odds. Then I add up the ultra-heterogenous poll results from escnation.

01. :ru:
02. :az:
03. :hr:
04. :am:
05. :is:
06. :hu:
07. :ee:
08. :cy:
09. :at:
10. :gr:
11. :ba:
12. :nl:
13. :cz:
14. :mt:
15. :fi:
16. :md:
17. :me:
18. :sm:

Would be okay results. I'm already prepared for the moment when the best song of the edition fails and we won't see the joyful Douwe in the final again.

I will wait some weeks and when Eurovision is close enough I will make a prediction for the whole contest once again.

I really hope that :gr: will somehow fail to qualify. Their song doesn't deserve to get through just because it represents Greece.

Mii11 I realized you do not love Freddie's song I thought that reading your previous comments. In A Dal I think Kállay's song was the best but he ruined their chances with live performances. He was weak in heat, better in semi but a complete disaster in the final. We wont know the truth about his failure - sabotage, system error, drug problems or he was simply nervous - but based on his former performances I did not cry after him. Gergő has excellent, strong voice, he could dance - so he is a perfect singer for Eurovision but that song was a complete mess and kitsch IMO. He is a gipsy guy, but that song was not gipsy music as a lot of foreigners thought. It was a weird mix of turkish, jew and gipsy music with other eastern elements. And finally sand flow from the ceiling . Hungary has no seaside or desert.... I hope somebody will write a good song for Gergő finally. (maybe we can hire Swedish guys to compose an ESC compatible song ) Freddie was the best choice, good voice, strong performance, good song and he can improve his perf for ESC. I am rooting for Jüri also, his Achilles heel is the dark, too pure staging.

I'll say :ru: :hr: :cy: :mt: :ee: :hu: :is: :az: :am: and.... :gr: / :cz: / :nl: This semi-final is just, yikes. Anyone could make it besides :sm: :me: :md:. I'll make a new prediction when the rehearsals come around and then another one on the night. Usually I have gotten two wrong in the first semi and one wrong in the second one.

If :cy: performs as today at the Moscow pre-party, they're giving their spot in the final to someone else, the live was not good today. The lead singer could not sing!

:at: and :nl: in?
In your dreams...

You see that he's far from being the only one?

Also since this is a predictions thread and it's not going to reflect the own oppinions of the users here, I think you should hold back with personal comments. Especially when we don't predict your favourite to qualify ;)

:at: might be a bit tad optimistic, but please, :nl: is a safe qualifier for me. It is different enough to stand out in a good way.

It might be for the :nl:, but I can't imagine them to qualify for the final as they did with the Common Linnets... :/
