Only big shock for me of the non qualifiers was Iceland who I thought were pretty safe. I was always taking a big gamble with Finland (who kicked butt tonight and I think deserved the final) and Greece, who had lackluster support from the fans this year. Lots of us were thinking at first this would be the Greek entry that misses the final, but then we were like "... but it's Greece".

Azerbaijan I thought had a chance on the strength of the song alone and because it's Azerbaijan. The disastrous rehearsals made me think they'd miss out, but woah, Samra stepped it up tonight. It wasn't bad at all.

Hungary were widely predicted to reach the final. Unsure if it was my bias clouding my prediction. I wasn't shocked though. More disappointed.

Austria, now this was a shock. The vast majority of us completely ruled them out. I'm not a fan of the song but at least we get something that's not in English being performed in the final.

I am shocked qualify but it did get a great reception in the hall!

Truth is that Samra unexpectedly blessed us with her best performance to date an thankfully, Nina´s dress wasn´t as distracting as I imagined.

Jüri´s 1960s deanmartinesque pastiche is probably not the right thing for Eurovision (but I liked it very much) and Greta? I have to say I was unpleasantly surprised by the inappropriate flirty smile during a song about anxiety and paranoia (if I understand it correctly).
