The 'jury' put them in bottom-5 and even didn't want them to qualify this year. Same situation in 2011. I totally understand their reasoning and if that is what makes them withdraw I shall fully support their decision. Sweden and some other Western European countries cannot make a big fuzz about human right issues, ethnic values etc. and at the same time assert such corrupt and un-democratic rules just because they are supposed to work in their favour. It's true there is diaspora voting but this does not justify jumbling the rest of the results as well.

Un-democratic rules which un-democratic rules?? So we should accept only televoting only because that benefit turkey?? Sorry that's stupid? And it's even more stupid that Turkey of all countries bring up this lame excuse for withdrawing. What about Netherlands who haven't been in final in 8 years? Why don't they complain? Why should the juries be more against Turkey than as example Sweden??

Oh wow :ba: and :tr: withdrawing at the same time makes me wonder why we are still in with all the economic difficulties in our country (ESPECIALLY IN HRT). We've been through a rough time for years now, but they still send mediocre songs that fail to impress and end up their ESC journeys in semis. :tr: and :ba: are both in my all time TOP 5 favourite countries in the ESC, and this is really sad for me. I hope they will find a solution to this problem soon. :)

Ahem, in 2011 the juries gave the Turkish entry more points than the televoters (not by much but still) so just because the juries didn't support Turkey in 2012 doesn't make it a "juries hate Turkey" fact.

Turkey is now an islamist country, so I think it's normal that they withdraw from this "inpur" contest. I won't regret them.

Sad news :?, i was hoping for a big star to represent :tr: at Malmo. Seems this Eurovision will be the contest with less number of participants in many years. Hope tomorrow we dont have the shocking news that one or two more countries are going to withdraw.

Because, you, all, so-called Europeans, have always had strong biases against Turkey. is this enough???

Right, we all hate Turkey and therefore they still get more points from the juries than from the televoters as in 2011:roll:

Here is the inevitable paranoiac comment. It's been even late already. It's now a great opportunity for Turk-haters to label Turkey as " islamist ", they will not miss it for sure.

There shouldn't be a jury because the will of the people ought to be respected. Holland, a nation with certainly no considerable dispora, actually were in the finals this year with televoting. I hated their song but Europe wanted them to qualify. Why should the taste of those 100 people count more?
I'd embrace if other broadcasters followed suit (and maybe TRT has encouraged them).

Even if that were true, wouldn't it be worse by removing the juries and relying on the televote only? :?

at least, you don't like Turkey and we know it. in 2011, we got a higher place in televoting than we did in the juries. right? and remember last year? we were 4th in televoting and 22nd in the juries. what a huge difference...

I didn't say anything about its being better.

I thought TRT's reason to withdrew was that they want only televoting. No juries?

BTW, Sweden missed the final in 2010 when Turkey finished 2nd. Why that if the juries is so unfair against Turkey?

In the semi Turkey was #2 among the juries and Sweden was 11th? Bad juries?

well, I just answered to the question which was ''Why should the juries be more against Turkey than as example Sweden??''. I didn't say anything about televoting or the juries thing. don't treat me like I'm TRT. :D
