Re: TURKEY 2013

I've seen this clip plenty of times b4 , the most hilarious thing is that the small kids are totally indifferent to it all

A first time for me. :) Seems like an original Turkish phenomena. I was thinking if there were some development and if anyone combined singing with it.

Re: TURKEY 2013

It was not a failure imo. But this style is too heavy for a contest mostly addressing to the euro pop-loving teenagers. (Lordi is an exception and they were lucky due to their popularity)

Haha, Max Jason Mai was so off key in all his performances in Baku, it was a true pain to hear. For what I've seen there are plenty of really good metal bands in Slovakia, but he surely doesn't have place among them. I'm pretty sure very few have heard of Lordi before ESC, they had a good song and a terrific funny act.

Re: TURKEY 2013

Max Jayson Mai failed because his song was awful and he was totally out of tune in his performance, not because the song was hard rock or metal or whatever. maNga had a hard rock song but came 2nd, but that was a great rock song and the performance was stunning. It's not the song's genre that matters, it's the song itself. I don't know anything about Hayko Cepkin, but if he comes up with a great rock song, then why to fail? :?

The comment about "they teenagers only vote for pop songs" is very funny and non-sense at all. Just count how many pop songs there are in top 10 in 2012. As if it's only teenagers that watch ESC and vote. :?

Lordi didn't fail because they had a different song for that year.Plus, they had a great show and performance. And Hayko Cepkin is one of the best performancers in Turkey. If they choose him,i definitely believe that he will make stuff that everyone will remember.

Still I don't think Eurovision deserves a singer like Hayko Cepkin or Sebnem Ferah. Model is the best option, they are new, fresh and young, not doing hard rock but a soft pop-rock. I'm not expecting them to win, and my aim is not to follow the fashion at all just for the sake of victory, but representation with a good song that will address to the people with a good music taste is enough for me.

They don't but also I don't believe that Hayko would actually agree to do this anyways :D

As for Aynur Aydin, I don't think it's a good idea. She makes pretty much the same music as Loreen and I think people wouldn't like a similar song to win again. Besides I'm 100% sure she would sing in English blah. I don't want rock music again too. Female or male pop singer would be the best as long as they sing in Turkish :D

Gokhan Tukrmen would be my dream but he is not suitable for Eurovision. I was thinking lately though, what would happen if Turkey chose a band like Karmate? :D Karadeniz laz folk music. I personally love it and it'd sound quite original :D

Re: TURKEY 2013

I think what he means was that Hayko probably wouldn't be recognized because he doesn't do a typical mainstream music. Most of people would be probably shocked if they saw his image and wouldn't appreciate his amazing vocal skills. They would pay attention to his appearance and wouldn't take him serious. Hayko would most likely sing in Turkish so people wouldn't understand his lyrics and his lyrics tend to be pretty deep so I guess people would think he is some pseudo metal who tries to get some attention. As a huge Hayko fan, I wouldn't like to see it, but on the other, how awesome it would be to see him live there :D

I don't really know who this Hayko is, but one word: SUUS !!!

People do appreciate genuine different entries in local languages! How many of the top. 10 songs last year were that mainstream to begin with? 6/10 were in native language or partly in native language.

If one really likes ESC, they shouldn't limit their mind of what could be sent there, on contrary we should be open to different things.

It kinda looks funny how you unintentionally wrote this. SUS in Turkish means "shut up" :D

I know they appreciate but Hayko does a really "strange" music and as far as I notice, people barely take metal entries serious anyways.

I agree but it's too beautiful to be true :)
