INFORMATION FOR NEW PLAYERS
After you join the Waiting List, I highly recommend looking for a place for your country. The unoccupied areas implicitly belong to both withdrawn nations, and current WLers. With few exceptions, you can claim any territory you wish. Take into account the geography and descriptions of the geocultural regions above, to find what is most fitting to the concept of your nation. PM me and I'll reserve the area for you. I'm also more than happy to answer any of your questions and give advice.
There is no hard limit on how big or small a nation can be, as long as you're not trying hardcore imperialism.
NSC is farily liberal when it comes to worldbuilding. Current nations range from medieval fantasy, to realistic, to futuristic.

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

I would like to see WL in the map.

Even in the WL, they are countries...

That would be awesome if the WL countries had their own place on the map, however, countries join the Waiting List all the time and poor Krešo would have to update it everytime someone new joins (and there is no guarantee that they would stay). The reason we have the Waiting List is because NSC is simply too big - and before WLSC was here, it was simply JUST a Waiting List. It would be nice to have a WL map I agree, but to think realistically and ideally, it just doesn't seem like the best thing if we have them on the (already huge if you include defunct countries) map. But maybe the top 5 Waiting List countries could be included? It's like a milestone for reaching the top 5, and brings NSC closer for you :D That's my opinion, but I'll leave that to Krešo to decide  I think I've hijacked his thread enough already!

xthread

By the way, if someone wants to volunteer to create a WL map, I don't see why not if it takes some of the workload off Krešo!

I guess islands would be able to stay the same shape? Seems reasonable :)

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

I'd agree with any change to my country's territory, as at the moment it's really fucked up. I dislike having just 1 neighbour. I'd prefer being an island/a group of islands or way more communicative (at least 2 neighbours). And a more interesting coast, for sure. I can't wait to see Kresho's magic. :)

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

I'd say yes to a map change since there are way too many island nations so the maps looks really cluttered and unrealistic. Also, I have only had my territory for about a week, and I have no feelings for it whatsoever, so yeah :D

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

Well, in the event of the map overhaul, I would be pleased if Yaponesia could remain eastern(most?... but if it's inconvenient, no worries :p). A similar shape would indeed be nice, with the archipelago connecting to Halito as a must. The general environment is modern urban cities but tropics in the south and volcanoes in the north. But if anything doesn't work, edit as you must. :D

I still believe a full overhaul is best taken as a community decision. However, I can't dictate that; the decision whether we should make it a community decision to overhaul it should also be a community decision

Thanks again for your work and enthusiasm :)

Kostanovia (as seen in the 'There's Nothing Like Kostanovia' host's video in NSC 54 ) is a very vast country with lots of mountains and lakes, deserts, beaches and modern urban cities :D Ripped off Australia ofc  Perhaps even an island, i don't know :D Surprise me!

Sunland is a 'lonely' country that uses alternative ways of energy.People are really close to nature. Many forests ,volcanos and lakes.. :) I'd prefer Sunland to be an island if it is possible :)

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

Hey everyone! I know I made quite a scene here about new map and then just went quiet about it. Not very nice of me. ;_; So just to prove this IS in fact going somewhere, here's a small detail from the work in progress:

examplea.png

Please do keep on reading, I have few comments about that detail; First of all I want to make clear this is not an actual size of detail, it is much much larger. I just resized it for this example. Moving on, I decided to keep these three countries together since they all fit into ''No Distinguishing Features'' category. Across the ocean you can see small bit of a giant land mass where nations that fit into ''Tropical Beach'' category are.
I went for more old-style look of the map because it looks nice and making those mountains and tress isn't very time consuming.
This IS still work in progress, I'll probably make some changes to the detail above, but I wanted to show you that I am indeed working on this new map. =)

Any feedback is appreciated.
