INFORMATION FOR NEW PLAYERS
After you join the Waiting List, I highly recommend looking for a place for your country. The unoccupied areas implicitly belong to both withdrawn nations, and current WLers. With few exceptions, you can claim any territory you wish. Take into account the geography and descriptions of the geocultural regions above, to find what is most fitting to the concept of your nation. PM me and I'll reserve the area for you. I'm also more than happy to answer any of your questions and give advice.
There is no hard limit on how big or small a nation can be, as long as you're not trying hardcore imperialism.
NSC is farily liberal when it comes to worldbuilding. Current nations range from medieval fantasy, to realistic, to futuristic.

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

Speak for yourself. Being stuck to Cleoreantia feels so... disguisting
What i like most about the idea of redesigining is that Kreso mentioned he was gonna place countries according to their descriptions (highly urbanized countries put together in one region, wildernesses in another, etc.).
Letting withdrawing countries stay also sounds much more reasonably than the way it's sorted out at present (i take it countries from the past would find their place too).

You don't need polls for private initiatives. The NSC map is an unofficial addon that could in theory be redesigned in thousand different versions by whoever wants to. Kreso designed current map and his work is widely accepted, but it's still HIS work and he can't be forced to do it one way or another. He'll do whatever he finds suitable.

Well I hope no one took this seriously. =D But yeah, it's annoying too see your name written wrongly several times in a day.
Anyway I'm busy, I'll reply properly to everyone's posts a bit later. =)

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

But, if it'll be a lot of work for you, then I'm saying a big NO too.

If it was too much I wouldn't do it, so it's okay. =)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you Kreso! The biggest thing concerning me is how the majority of NSC would react to the idea without their approval. If a new map was created and was liked by everyone then of course I can't stop it from materalising. Like I said, I'm open to new ideas but I love the map as it is - and obviously you can't please everyone, some people are always going to disagree. Please don't take it personal, I really do appreciate you and your efforts. But I think the number of people agreeing with me is enough to show how loved our map actually is :D I'm not actually against adding rivers, pictures or keeping old countries on the map, I just don't want the present countries to have any major changes to their shape, size and location as I'm sure many would agree :D Maybe a poll can be created?

Oh, no worries I wasn't offended in any way. I'd take more than that to offend me. And unfortunately there would changes in territory shapes on an epic scale. That is due to a very special feature I thought of and is suppose to be a surprise.

Letting withdrawing countries stay also sounds much more reasonably than the way it's sorted out at present (i take it countries from the past would find their place too).

Unfortunately countries that withdrew previously would not find a place on the map. Then it would be just way to many countries. I'm covering this up with a world war. yay

You'll still have your island and everything you requested while I was designing it.

Sorry if it seems narcissistic or whatever, but this is how I feel, yes. Thank you Orian.

To sum it up: Re-design means territories would be majorly changed. But I will open requests for the new map, so if there is anything you want just speak up in the thread! Some people already stated they would like their nation to border someone else's and so far these have been understandable. However if you want your uber-hi-tech nation with futuristic skyscrapers to border a nation like Rumia, you can just forget it. That is because, as Orian mentioned, there is an idea to divide nations into regions based on their description.

Going on, I can't make an example and then let you decide it. Because full idea is rather complicated and I don't want to work a lot on something that has a chance of being rejected. This is either happening as it is, or not happening at all.

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

So how much begging would it take to make your mainland nation exempt from any territorial alterations?

None, because it ain't possible. If I let you keep it, I have to let everyone else keep it and then we're just back at square one. In the end this may not even happen, no need to panic. =P

If you wanna do it and show us your new ideas, by all means :D I don't wanna suddenly change my opinion that I like the map as it is, but if you believe that this is better then I think we can all agree! Show us what you got :D

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

I just figure some nations have created detailed plans of their own nation and others haven't. A hybrid sounds very possible.

I also may just be prepared to bribe you with real money if I have to.

Re: The NSC Map - UPDATE

I think it would be quite fun to have a whole new map :p In preparation for this possibility, i've taken this opportunity to update the Geography section of Halito's wiki page, which has needed updating for a loooooong time xD
The only requests that i have are that Halito still consists of some mainland and at least 2 small islands, and that these islands lie close to Yaponesia, please.
