INFORMATION FOR NEW PLAYERS
After you join the Waiting List, I highly recommend looking for a place for your country. The unoccupied areas implicitly belong to both withdrawn nations, and current WLers. With few exceptions, you can claim any territory you wish. Take into account the geography and descriptions of the geocultural regions above, to find what is most fitting to the concept of your nation. PM me and I'll reserve the area for you. I'm also more than happy to answer any of your questions and give advice.
There is no hard limit on how big or small a nation can be, as long as you're not trying hardcore imperialism.
NSC is farily liberal when it comes to worldbuilding. Current nations range from medieval fantasy, to realistic, to futuristic.

Re: The NSC Map

I'm sorry to put down your enthusiasm, but this makes little sense, for two reasons:
1) First of them has already been mentioned by Paper - too many changes. You would have to update the map every edition and i doubt you'll be interested in it anymore when you finally enter the contest.
2) WLers are here to enter the actual contest and when they do, they get placed on the NSC map, in different location and with different neighbours. That means a country, whom you put in a frozen wasteland, may become a tropical island in the end. There's no point to base oneself's country on something as temporary as a WL map.

Re: The NSC Map

Has Sunoria been added to the NSC map yet? I can't find it.

It'll probably be added when Krešo does the big overhaul of the map, dunno when it'll be though

Re: The NSC Map

*bump*

In case any of you don't know, there is a real-life NSC map where you can tag your [general] location in the world. We have a bunch of countries already; if you're not one of them, why not add yours? :)

Oh, and I was thinking of changing the instructions for adding the flag icon, because it seems that just putting in your country code won't work. I would go to http://www.escforums.com/t3132/, right-clicking your flag, clicking "Copy image URL" and pasting it where the instructions say to go. Sorry if that was confusing :p

Re: The NSC Map

Hey guys! Just dropping in to say that the new map is done. yay! There are two versions; simple one depicting nation territories and provinces they belong to and a detailed one with relief and stuff. There is also a lengthy description of each province I made under ''additional info''. I wish I could upload You can find all of this in the first post. Check the full version so you can read the details as well! Well, I say ''full version'', but it is only half the actual size. Unfortunately when i tried to upload the massive version every site I went to said ''file too large''. -_-
I'm really sorry it took this long, but I kept running into problems while making this. At one point I just gave up on it. It was supposed be a lot more complicated with mountains looking something like this:

mtpracticecopy.jpg

But my laptop went KA-BOOM. It took up way too much RAM or whatever. And these are just sketches. =|
Also sorry if you dislike any of the names I made up for provinces, rivers, mountains, etc. I pretty much just took first thing that came to my mind, apart from few which are taken from various description I could find of NSC nations. Feel free to post your own suggestions.

ALSO, please do read this, I will start making individual maps on request just like before. I will even put any additional info you ask in them. However, I will first take a rest from all this. ;_; So check back later for that.

The grey areas are vacant spaces, just in case.

Please do point out any errors I made. =)

On the awesomeness scale from 1-10, this is a 1273. Seriously great work :D :D :D

Doire is happy with it's location. We'll need to discuss with/nuke Dal Riata and Anselmsmumonia about open sea access.

Doyryan Bay ftw!
