That's shamelessly cheesy but also kind of cute and a huge improvement over last year's disaster. I give it 8 points.

I love Spanish songs but #5 in the odds for this one? It's a good ballad but nothing groundbreaking. 7 pts

Ew, yeah. I've heard worse revamps, but cutting back on the piano and the strings to instead add some generic percussion is... not the direction I would've taken this in.

Link, for anyone else who might want to look: http://www.rtve.es/playz/videos/otv...as-imagenes-del-videoclip-tu-cancion/4505804/

They're trying to make it big and that's the direction I really didn't want them to take... to me it doesn't sound sincere anymore, too theatrical for my taste :( I much prefer it with less chords and the piano

But I will wait for the full version to draw conclusions

Yep. Based on the snippet, it sounds like sort of what happened with the UK entry last year. Can we not have a nice simple piano-and-strings ballad in the contest any more without getting it revamped with drums and electro elements? :?

Granted, a lot of people liked that UK revamp, but... it's not really for me. I'm hoping the rest sounds better than this snippet.

Doesn't sound much like a revamp to me so far. There were strings, drums and a guitar in the NF performance as well. The sound in this studio version seems to be much more equalized I guess

They put drums in because some of the Eurovision audience wouldn't be able to cope otherwise I guess, they need the rhythm spelled out for them. It's better not to care about ignorant comments, but I suppose they feel pressure to make something more mainstream contemporary (in other words cheap and simple)..

What have they done to it? The lushness of the original studio version sounded muted from that snippet. The strings were so forward and prominent before and to lose that aspect of the song is a crying shame. What I considered the best composition of the year has just been neutered. And those drums? It was so Antony and the Johnson's-esque before which is I why I loved it. I'm scared to find out the full extent of the damage done.

Spain, what did you do!? I was an ardent supporter of this songs quality as a composition before. There was so much here to put people off, and I understood exactly why the package was too much for some, but I still stuck by the quality of the song and the simple sincerity of it. Now it literally has become a typical Eurovision entry. Perhaps if this had been the original version presented i'd be less harsh, and would have just put on my Eurovision ears and been like "ok, melodramatic ballad, bless it" but the fact this song already existed in such a pure and beautiful form makes this whole thing quite heartbreaking. I thought "Tu canción" was perfect as it was and I was looking forward to the prospect of it surprising people in Lisbon, cause I really, really believed in it. I'm so bummed it's unreal. Maybe some might consider it an overreaction because the strings are still there, the piano is there, and there was percussion before. The little things matter to me a lot though, and the fact they've hammed things up is the killer blow. That pause leading into the final chorus.. just kill me now.

I'll accept the devamp in time, but I don't think i'll hand on heart be able to defend the song the same way I did before. I'm not gonna change my 12 yet as I need time to cool down a bit, and come to terms with the fact I can't look at the song the same way that I was.

First of all, I have to say I don't dislike the final version. However, I agree it was better before. I guess they wanted to add dramatism, but the song has lost the intimate atmosphere the original instruments gave to it.

I wasn't a fan of this song before, but if I upgraded from 2 to 4 points was because somehow the simplicity of the piano melody was pleasant, like a lullaby... now it's been ruined, the duet become a background of a terrible noise.

the song has lost the intimate atmosphere the original instruments gave to it.

I was looking for a way to describe my thoughts, and I think you've nailed it: it's just not intimate any more. The original version felt beautiful and delicate, and in trying to make things feel more epic and emotional, the changes have counter-intuitively gone in the exact opposite direction and lost the emotion of the original.

As others are saying, it's not like I hate this new version, but it's certainly not as good as the original. I'll change my rating after a few more listens but I imagine it'll lose a few points and drop out of my top 10.
