I'm happy that this song didn't pass. No Russia bashing here, but only the fact. Horrible accent, horrible singing, not even talking about the moment when she forgot she had to sing, the chorus made a better work than her, creepy and weird staging, etc... !

It's not because it's Russia that this song had to pass. and it didn't. good. She lived her dream tonight, and next year Russia will send us a good song like 2015 or 2016. but this year, it was just NO.

But with Moldova in the final, they might as well appeal to Kirkorov for help next year and nothing will have changed :?

The good thing for next year is that with RTR in the charge, Kirkorov will be here to control everything for next Russian entry..

It seems Russia already qualified xthink

They are already shot the special episode of a talk-show Pust' Govoryat' that will be streamed right before the Final and they claimed her as a finalist there.

What happened with this?

I can't believe that my dreams came true and this entry flopped. It's better this way, so everyone can see that even Russia can and will disqualify if they send an entry as weak as this. Even I believed that that they cannot place outside of top 10 no matter what they send and I'm so happy to be proven wrong.

I was surprised to see Russia not qualify, however, the entry was very weak, so it's good to see them out of the race. I think Russia take it for granted they will always get through.

I was crossing my fingers the whole time that this mess wouldn't qualify, thank God it didn't and there is justice afterall. The performance was a vocal and visual mess regardless of what you think of the song (which imo is a generic bore but whatever). Part of me feels sorry for Yulia, it was uncomfortable to see tbh and it felt pretty forced, on the other hand just because she's in a wheelchair doesn't make her some puppet who can't have her own say, but yeah it was all awkward looking tbh. I said it from the get-go, if they wanted her, they should have given her a song in Russian that would be more comfortable for her, then maybe the outcome would look differently, but they insisted on everything wrong from the get-go so they got what they deserved.

I feel bad for Yulia. Bad song or not, politics or not, she is still a person just like everyone else I think

I don't blame her for messing up a line or whatever. I would've done it too and laughed. Just drop it.

Having that said: I don't know Julia that well, but I don't think the song suits her voice or even her aesthetic that well. The song itself has a potential if it was slightly rewritten and had a different singer.

I think it's true that had she not had a disability people wouldn't feel as sorry for Yulia. It's only human nature to feel something for her though. I don't think any of us can begin to imagine her life struggles, and the extra weight she carried as Russia's entrant. The miss was deserved because the song wasn't great and the performance was the worst of the night, but it doesn't mean it's wrong to feel a little something for her. Those pictures of her crying weren't very nice. The same as seeing anyone else cry isn't nice, but when you think of her physical struggles she's endured getting to this point and will have to battle through for the rest of her life, it makes it extra unpleasant to see a person like this in distress. She just wanted her moment the same as anyone else. This whole thing has been a very uncomfortable thing to watch unfold, and I just hope Russia stops it's games next year. A big ask perhaps but i'll keep my fingers crossed.

I blame it everything on the broadcaster.

She applied with her songs. The broadcaster rejected all of them.
Then they forced her to shoot the music video that she didn't like - and she said about that :?

Then they created this staging based on the music video that she didn't like :?

Salvador didn't rehearse. They should have done the same... but instead she went through all the rehearsals, they took her to bizarre political demonstration like some puppet, they took her to the red carpet, she gave like gadzillion interviews. She looked exhausted till the limit during the live broadcast. Imho they cared about everything but HER performance.

Yulia is heartbroken

That is a life crushing moment. To be the first representative of a European powerhouse that fails at Eurovision. I think the representative of 2011 should have been the first and not her. She is ruined now.
