Well, I still like it. I can't see anyhing inappropriate in her staging. Sure, chorus sounds not good, but I hope they will work on it. Song is nice and it's one of my favourite from Russia, I don't know, maybe it's a gulity pleasure. I wish she sang it in Russian.

As I wrote on Australia's thread, the word "cringe" is sooo popular on this year's ESC and I think Julia will find her place in the final in contrast to many others cringy performances (just to be clear: in my opinion "I wan't break" is not one of them). People overreact speaking of Russia 2018 and the number of dislikes is inflated if you ask me.

Officialy, yes however the Germans surrended on the evening of the 8th so it possible that Russia has plans on that evening for any cerenony or documentary, if not the Irish issue it is

That's their excuse. Even if they broadcast the full show later, the audience will be smaller due to the later time slot.

The Russian diaspora is really being tested this year. The Russians have the very strong tendency to vote for absolutely everything that Russia sends to Eurovision but in other years, the Russian entries were surely easier to support than in this year. Most of the Russians will surely hate this entry themselves. The questions is, will at least some of the usual voters actually refrain from voting for Russia this year or will they vote even when actively hating the entry just like they do in any other year?

I don't even hate the song, but between that live performance, and this staging, I just don't see how this could make it; of course, being Russia, it seems it will always have place in the final, but I honestly can say now for the first time ever, it's more likely for a Russian entry to miss the final than to get in there.

Just imagine the drama and the conspiracy theories that will emerge if that really happens.

and :az: because of the turkisch diaspora..

???

Azerbaijan was 22nd, 24th, 25th and 25th the last 4 years in our Televoting. And Countries like Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Netherlands had similar Results.

The diaspora doesn‘t give you a top result, but it can help you qualify significantly. That‘s what I wnated to say.

For once, I'd be eager to root for a huge and rude failure of :ru: in this semi final, as they don't seem to give a single f*ck to their participation this year. I was kinda silly to believe that Julia would've trained her vocals a bit along with improving her skills in English. However, it turned out that I was wrong right from the beginning.

They only allowed Julia to compete for :ru: in order to show everyone that the broadcaster was respectful (and all of this stuff) towards her. She can't sing, no matter what the reasons are. The staging is... okayish, nothing breathtaking, but do :ru: truly deserve to qualify this year? No.

I deeply hope that they'll fail to make it through if they do not manage to make any efforts regarding Julia's performance, as they seem very confident about getting through it without worrying about a failure. Gosh...

There are other acts like Moldova, Hungary, Malta and Poland that are more deserving.

i wouldn't mind that much if she was in the finals for the only reason @ it's a trainwreck

THAT being said, there are a lot of faves of mine with less chance of qualifying in this semi (cough serbia, latvia and slovenia cough) and i would take them over yulia at ANY time

Poor Yulia and Russia... they are not doing well in the fan polls this year. But I am afraid that is very deserved this year. Russia has had a tendency to pick rather good songs, that mostly have deserved their qualification. But this year the song itself is actually the best Russia has to offer. The singer and the staging is far below average. The song itself? Quite middle-of-the-road-uninteresting-heard-it-a-million-times-before-toilet-break-couldnt-care-less kind of song.

Hmmm ... if Yulia fails to qualify there will be a wave of conspiracy theories in Russia how that could possibly happen. But if she does qualify there will be a wave of conspiracy theories in Europe how that could poss...

I guess I prefer Yulia not to qualify. Less overall damage. Sorry dear Russians, not this year. ;)
