They will find the way to final! SF2 is weaker than SF1 so i believe that they can qualify 10th!

I don't think so. If either :ro: or :hu: manage to both pull an incredible performance off, about which I ain't doubtful, :ru: won't make it through.

I don't expect incredible performance by Romania mostly because the performace in their national final wasn't that good!
Hungary will qualify anyaway i believe! But still Russia can do it by leaving out Poland or Latvia!

actually russia would have an easier time in semi 1 - there are more dead on arrival entries there and semi 1 ended up with all of their allies since along with russia the pot sorted into semi 2 ukraine and georgia, both of which not currently on best terms with russia and sure to give yulia jury 0s. in semi 1 russia would be one of the safer bets for 9th or 10th place, specially if they got second half.

Unless the performance is a true trainwreck, I can't see :ru: failing to get through the GF.

I think Moldova will overshadow it coming right after Russia. Especially because their song offers more for Eastern taste and Philipp Kirkorov is the biggest name this year.

Not only by :md: but by :dk: as well. It seems pretty crystal-clear to me: :ru: is paving its way for a brand first NQ.

I think Russia doesn't deserve to qualify this year, but they probably will. Her disability will not help or hurt her (let's just go back - Germany 2002, Poland 2015, Spain 2000 if I remember well, etc), but the song will hurt her. This simply doesn't have anything in it, I am sorry. I was trying to like it, but it doesn't work. Especially after I saw this performance.

Btw, we know there are only few countries with 100% qualification record and I believe two of those, Russia and Romania, will both fail to go through. But let's wait and see.

If there is any justice, both Romania and Russia really shouldn't qualify, simply because these songs are flat and one of the weakest entries in this strong year for competition.

Yikes, that has to be one of the worst live performances I've ever heard of anything, ever. I had to stop listening halfway through as I physically couldn't sit through any more of it. If Russia want to qualify they're going to need to turn her mic down to basically zero.

I have a feeling that they are going all Demi on us in Lisbon with the backup vocalists doing all of the leg work (no pun intended). Yulia sounded okay, or less bad, during the verses, so if they cover up her less-than-perfect vocals during the chorus, I think it's going to be passable. That being said, I never liked the song so I'm totally fine with a non-qualification.

It would not surprise me, if we'll witness the following:
step one: Yulia will have a few more appearances with a make-up that makes her look like her own ghost (as the one in Moscow), preparing
step two: A statement will be issued that her physical condition will not allow her to participate in the contest herself, but
step three: another artist (this time with a strong voice) will step in for her to sing the song (which is not an infraction of the rules as TV stations had to nominate the song, not necessarily the singer)
step four: the staging in Lisbon will make the whole performance a tribute to brave, suffering Yulia who might even be present as - why not - a hologram
step five: massive voting from both juries and televote

Never underestimate Russia....
