Europe: why are you sending songs in English?
Eastern block: so more people understand us and give us more points. *sings in the kind of English even Brits can't understand*

I think she can be understood far better than Melovin, so give her a break on that. No pun intended.. yeah they need to improve and cover her well, but this should qualify.

I won't be able to understand, why some countries feel forced to compete with entries in English, no matter what. In regards to "Heroes" or "Rise Like A Phoenix", I don't even believe in the fact that it'd not have won if they were being performed in Swedish or German. :?

For instance, :ua: won both times with entries being partly sung in Ukrainian, while :pt: eventually won with a song fully performed in Portuguese. See, this isn't as complicated to get it seems to be on first sight.

Oh, poor Yulia. If she does not get herself together and simply ignores all the negativity around her, nerves will get to her and it may really happen that Russia stays in the semis for the first time ever. The thing is that she is not a bad singer, and the song is in my opinion actually very good, with nice lyrics and good message. However, I am slowly getting worried. Come on, Yulia, get yourself together and show everyone you can do it! xkissxmusicxsing-O-

Well, honestly I can't see her not qualify Ing. It's Russia. Even without friend they will make it. It's Russia. She will be in the Final. TOP 10 incoming.

If we take a look only at the studio version it's good enough to qualify imo, live is not so powerful, juries won't help.

My dearest Julia,

If you didn't want to neither represent Russia nor being forced to shoot a videoclip that you consider awful, then you shouldn't have accepted to take part at the ESC and let someone else do so. However, if you want to comply with Mother Russia's rules, then don't feel being betrayed by your native country, when the whole delegation will ask you not to sing any single line of the chorus.

Sincerely yours,

Eurofans.

She probably had other ideas in mind, but I fail to see what's not to like about the video apart from the mountain edited scene: she looks great, she rocks her brown eye contacts and she's got a super unique lipstick that changes colour by itself. :D

It's not creative in the slightest though, and maybe a bit too conformist for her taste, which might be the reason why she's dissatisfied about it.

But it's typical from Russia, they never let their representatives have a say in the creative process and shape them according to whatever image they want them to show. Nothing new under the sun.

It seems that Sergey hasn't been forced by :ru: to shoot this breathtaking videoclip. xheat

Did he decide what it would look like though? That was my point. :)

The Russian team can do great things, but since they opted for internal selections in 2013, I feel like the singers are there only to sing, not really showcase their own artistry.

Holding national finals wasn't seen as an asset for :ru: though.

Did someone say "live-performance mountain dress"? Because it looks like there's going to be a live-performance mountain dress.
