Re: PORTUGAL 2013

So Portugal is one of the only 2 countries that took part last year who haven't said anything yeat about ESC2013. Things are not looking great :/

I think eventually they will be in but at the moment EBU needs to do a lot of 'persuading'. :)

More saddened by this than by Poland. Not because of any great love for the Portuguese entries, but because there was something noble about Portugal's perseverance with ESC despite perennial failure.

So disappointing decision from Portugal. Greece has less money and will take part in Malmo! And Portugal is one of my most favorite countries of the contest in the last years! I will miss Portugal! :(

Can't say I blame them. They never get a fair shot at ESC. The results are just too bad to justify staying in.

Having said all that, I'm still shocked. This is big news.

One of the best Eurovision countries for me, I can't to believe!:cry::cry:

I am ready to sacrifice half of the countries, if only to Portugal participated

I don't know what to think now. I'm sad and I will miss Portugal, it's a country that most of the times sent decent songs and I liked many of their entries. Perhaps a break for only a year will be good for them to prepare for something good? :?

But what if they decide to withdraw forever?

I don't think there is such a thing as forever, in Portugal's case particular. They said that they're not ruling out a 2014 participation.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere... XD
I'm sad... I remember our (if we can call it...) glory days from the 90's (Dulce Ponte - Lusitana Paixão; Anabela - A cidade; Sara Tavares - Chamar a música; Lúcia Moniz - O meu coração não tem cor) and recently (except Homens da Luta of course) I felt that the quality of the songs was as good or even better! And now SNAP! Punch in the face!!! No Malmo for us... :(

Well, let's hope to be back in 2014 and please Europe, if the song is good, give us the deserved points!
