Cuz he's got everything; great looks, great style, he's popular and he's brilliant in English. Not sure if he can do the French though tbf.

The most important thing is missing: is he actually good at hosting? How can we know, he never hosted anything did he?

Not sure Sakis did much hosting before Eurovision 2006. And Eric certainly could never be worse than El (or any of the hosts for that matter) last year!

Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

Eric Saade messed up big time this spring by charging his fans (mostly children and teen girls) for autographs and promotion stuff. For 1500 SEK you could get a short chat, a picture and an autograph. :/ Regardless of that I don't think I ever heard him speak more than one sentence at a time. Maybe (probably) he can make a conversation, but being a ESC host requires a bit more I think.

Besides we all know already the host is going to be

Måns is a bore but I guess he is one of lesser evils that SVT would have in store for us.

Eric Saade a host? He should try to atleast make a decent song first.

I have always thought Saade was also a TV presenter and Wikipedia seems to be of the same opinion. That said, I've never seen any of the programmes he hosted.

You know when I think of it he did host a bit at the Disney channel before he entered Melodifestivalen, but he has done any since then. And I've never watch the Disney channel so no clue if was good/decent/mediocre/bad/lousy.

Eric did present the Disney Channel, he even interviewed Zac Efron - what more could we want after the disastrous hosts last year?!

Disney Channel is not really something remarkable though as your public are little stupid kids and you have to talk like them

True though that everyone could do a better job than last year's host, but then I suggest you and I would host instead of Eric

Well thats true whe wouldnt be worse than them (I freaking hope) but I would prefer if we would have a "professional" host, if you see what I mean.

Yeah, I agree with this. It feels a bit to me like people are suggesting Eric just for having Eric too, rather than actually have a good host. The reasons I keep getting are 'he's good looking and he's hosted before'. I'd rather someone be good at presenting than them just being a pretty face, no one supporting Eric hosting has yet commented on how well he hosts. :/

He describes himself as an entertainer and admittedly he is quite adroit. Another reason (not the crucial one) why I want him and Gina Dirawi is that both were born in the nineties. I am not ageist at all but when exactly was the last time we did not have middle-aged persons as hosts? 1984 in Luxemburg (I'd accept the Finnish hosts as borderline)? Changing this would be really cool and bring some fresh air to the contest. Also, they might know a bit French because of their Arab parents (unlikely though).

I honestly don't see what the problem is with just having normal looking hosts and hosts of any age. :/
As long as they're not as vile as last years hosts I'm really not fussed.

Ehm? I don't recall last year's hosts being "middle-age" and is this Arabvision or what? Yes the contest is in Malmö but let's not make it a PC cliché because of that. Gina is nasty, I will not even watch ESC if they add her hating face as our hostess.

I doubt any of them speaks French.

I want good looking hosts, but I also want talented and charismatic ones, so in that sense I agree with you because it seems people just want Eric because of his looks and they no nothing if he would be a good host or even capable of hosting such an event.

Don't remind me of last year's hosts. I have already squeezed them out of my mind (not that they were horrendous, just incredibly dull). Dirawi and Saade are Swedes in the first place but with migration background. So yep, that fact would suit the host city; I see nothing wrong with it.
Your averseness to her is based on I think political disagreements and these shouldn't play a role while determining the hosts.

Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

You need great looking host because it will keep a viewers attention much more than it will if you have an unattractive person. Best idea I think would be to have Eric as the main host and SDF in character in the green room. Eric Saade fits the bill perfectly for main host.
