Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

Don't remind me of last year's hosts. I have already squeezed them out of my mind (not that they were horrendous, just incredibly dull). Dirawi and Saade are Swedes in the first place but with migration background. So yep, that fact would suit the host city; I see nothing wrong with it.
Your averseness to her is based on I think political disagreements and these shouldn't play a role while determining the hosts.

They are what they believe they are, which I guess none of us really know. I have nothing against Saade on a personal level, I just don't think he'll be fit as a host that's all. Oh so you think it's ok to have a face with nazi opinions be a representation of your country then?

So Swedes should hide their faces because the contest will be in Malmö you suggest? Well, we as a whole nation are hosts of this contest, and I don't believe in positive discrimination. People should get a job because they are good at it.

Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

You need great looking host because it will keep a viewers attention much more than it will if you have an unattractive person.
That's just ridiculously shallow if you ask me. And I'm more likely to have my attention towards a charismatic host than an attractive monotone host.

Best idea I think would be to have Eric as the main host and SDF in character in the green room. Eric Saade fits the bill perfectly for main host.
Why? Apart from him 'looking good'? This is what I'm asking, no one seems capable of saying anything but 'he looks good'. I'm sorry, but as far as I'm concerned that's not a good enough reason to give someone a hosting job. Would you vote the most attractive candidate in an election, or the person who is best fit for the job?

I hate when people say things like this. It may be shallow but it's the truth whether you like it or not!
Good job Eric's got heap loads of charisma too, then isnt it.

He's also been a Eurovision representative, has great, clear English that everybody and knows what he's on about in English too which is key. In addition, he's presented a TV channel and interviewed American movie greats - everything you want for a host who's going to be presenting 95% in English;

lol his English atleast in that clip SUCKS for a young Swede

And he is not a good host either, actually I never seen his hosting but now that I've seen he couldn't even host a kiddie show I'm more convinced he is not fit for the job

My issue is that it took me telling you not to think about the looks to convince me... you couldn't give those reasons in the first place and I had to get them out.

I hate when people say things like this. It may be shallow but it's the truth whether you like it or not!
Based on what... you opinion? There are variety of them out there, not just yours.
A pretty face is a bonus to me, it isn't what I look for. If it was between someone I find attractive but was a meh host or someone 'normal' looking but a brilliant host, I would go for the latter everytime. The sad truth is I believe and element of what you say is true. Most people are shallow nowadays, look at our music charts or celebrities, the majority is based on looks, not on actual talent, hard work or skill.

This is why I think Eric Saade is a horrible choice, all the people for it will just compliment his looks (if you disagree with that, look at the people who suggested him and failed to mention whether he'd be good at the responsibilities a presenter would have to take, over talking about his looks) and not his actual presentation skills and it will promote shallowness which I, personally really stand against. If you can do the job over someone attractive you should get the job, not the person blessed with good looks. That, to me, is fairness and I will always stick by that. That's where I stand with this kind of thing anyway. This will never change because I don't discriminate. If you're good at the job, you're good at the job; plain and simple.

Sarah Dawn Finer would be a much better option. She may be a little bit overweight, but that's not all, fortunately. She is very funny and talented as a host isn't she? Would much prefer her over Eric. Very very much.

I too, would prefer this. She's a great host and is very entertaining. She has also proven her worth evidently from the massively positive response she got from bother her sketch at Melodifestivalen and presenting the points last year. She did all of this through her great presentation skills alone and did not rely on her image. The right way.

Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

Here's a suggestion a bit out of the blue: How about Emma Wiklund?

Y1BPQ.jpg

She's a real beauty and obviously speaks fluent French as evidenced by her role in the french "Taxi" film series. However I do think that she might be lacking that certain something required to carry such a big show all on her own. She could probably do great as a co-host, but since they're going with just the one host next year, maybe she's not the one....

But oh well, SVT were never going to pick her either way.

Also, on the Eric Saade suggestion: over my dead body! They've already got one arrogant moron co-hosting the MF next year (I'm looking at you Danny!), there's really no need to bring in even more ego. Heck, I'm surprised that Danny's could fit considering the size of the one Björkman has.

Anyway, if not Emma Wiklund, I could be happy with Petre Mede if she's interested. I feel that it would be good to actually have a host which is fluent in French in addition to English since it hightens the quality of the show.

Oh and the chance of Sarah Dawn Finer doing it after SVT picked her to be this years' Christmas host is slim to none.

BOTH MF hosts next year are useless waste of time and space, not only Danny.

Emma could be interesting, I don't agree she's a real beauty though (actually I don't find her beautiful at all), but yeah atleast she is sympathetic and fluent in French.

Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

Eric Saade is simply out - zero likelihood
Sarah Dawn Finer is great but feels too predictable
Måns Zelmerlöf is hooked to Allsång but very probable

There could very well be a wildcard and the fact it is known to be one single host, makes it pretty clear the choice is already decided.

How does it? His English is as good as the Norwegian hosts, and they were the best hosts we've had for a long time (well 2 of them anyway).

And his hosting is perfectly fine, it's just you dont like him so want to see it as bad! ;)

Ok I know you're being blinded by your physical attraction to him or whatever, but for being a young Swede (I guess the ones out of non-native English speakers that are best in English in the world) then he kinda sucks.

The Norwegian hosts were terror (accept for the nice young black lady, she was good).

Reasonable lists, likelihoods and reasons here.
Part of me does feel Sarah Dawn Finer would be very predictable... I'd still rather have her than a lot of suggestions given in here though. :/

And my issue is you making stuff up again. I quite clearly had explained why he'd be a good host (beyond looks) earlier.

No. Eric Saade for main host, SDF as Lynda Woodruff for the green room. That'd be the best of both worlds, because then we can have a laugh at all the artists and delegations that dont get her

Well I dont see how he sucks at it because Im a native Englishmen and I can understand what he says and is on about completely, and also importantly, he's a clear speaker too.
The black lady and the man were awesome. Loved them, like Eric would be, they were the perfect hosts - great English, good looking, and came across very well.

Hence why it'd be funny! I loved the look on the woman Azeri host when she was saying "Azerjiban" Finland did the character thing in the green room and it worked brilliantly, so I think Sweden should repeat it, especially have they have a popular character ready to use! :p

Talking 'understandably' is not the same as talking great English. I'm actually shocked at you, being a nativ-English speaker, can say that the English in that video was 'great', it was great compared to Belarussian English maybe but far from good compared to the general youth English knowledge in Sweden. I mean I'm not a native speaker, but even I heard it wasn't good.

The man in the Norwegian selection was pretty bad. But atleast we agree on the black lady.
