Everything very subjective. Scream xgaah or whine xcry1! Norway's is coming! ;)

Hahaha, it is nice to see that you love it so much, at least you have much fun now, unlike me, I am anxious, because I am still afraid my fave will flop.

So the betting odds are wrong, but you are correct? Are you being objective about this, or is your opinion of the song affecting your perspective of it's chances to win?

Oh come on, why is everyone just saying that he can't see this winning not objective? Why do you see yourself as more objective than others? You also did the same with me...

In many peoples opinion this just feels like a JESC entry or not even on that level

I am actually enjoying it, especially since many hate the song so much. But it is NOT on my top. I rather like Hungary, Estonia, France or Switzerland to win. :D Guess the only realistic ones are France and Estonia ... but Rybak's song is okay. I wouldn't mind it winning. :D

I am honestly so scared of what this entry could achieve. Still an abysmal song, but he is so convincing in his performance. I don't get it.

Wiwibloggs is reporting that he's using the same graphics he used in MGP?? I thought those kind of on-screen drawings weren't going to be possible this year?

that can't be real, right. Song is not bad but like winning ? don't we have 5 others songs better than that (or more) ?

I'm really curious where it's gonna end, between what the bookmakers are thinking and the real position (even if they're right but I'm really curious)

Nope, a lot of countries have used on-screen graphics in a similar way this year

The fact that this has risen so much frightens me. I think he definitely has a shot here .. My friend (who doesnt watch National selections and doesnt know the songs beforehand) just told me about Rybak's comeback and his cool new song today. I was like  and :?. Things just get real here. He is about to win the thing guys! Due to fame and people seem to find his song catchy. He will for sure win the televote and .. juries wont give him a low amount of points either.

Rybak song is way more accesible to the average viewer than Israel or Estonia, and he hits many squares: old people, young women, the Eastern Bloc, the Nordics... a victory is still unlikely, but far from impossible.

He wasn't kidding when he POINTED that he and Johnny Logan are born on the same day. That sly Rybak, damn! And he was obssesed with his ESC record, many people think that he is actually back to prove that he will manage to achieve the record again! I am not surprised if he thinks like that, because whenever someone won in the past years, his post on his Facebook page was:" Congratulations Mans, Jamala, Lena, not bad points...but I still hold the record!" Exactly with those words!

It is not what bookmakers are thinking. It is the people putting their money on Norway, nothing else at the moment.
There are some guys 'working' in the press centre who put at least 100.000£ each year on Eurovision. Are they pro's? Nah.. wouldn't say so. But it is such a huge advantage to be one of the first to see the actual footage and get the reactions of the press centre. It is almost impossible to fuck it up if you are a little bit experienced in Eurovision and have access to betfair.

This year there was already some hype in this betting community regarding Norway. Esctips_Gavster invited Sharleen Wright who told him she had a bet on Norway at odds of ~70 or something and she was already hyping Norway like crazy as a possible contender. Ewan Spence [ESC Insight Jukebox Jury] had Ellie Chalkley and Matthew Ker in his podcast and they were calling Norway a contender and probably put some money on Norway back then. So even those "normal" journalists besides(!) the gamblers are interested to hype Norway and make the odds shorten. Others keep reading their tweets or articles and start believing Norway will happen and join the betting. With Rybak beeing such a charismatic performer it is easy to convince others to join this hype train. Those others who put money on Norway are of course interested to make the hype even bigger.
It plays in Rybaks favour that acts as Israel or Bulgaria did not convince with their stagings.

The main question is: Are they all right or is this some kind of betting bubble?

Maybe Rybak is putting money on himself, he is attention whore, sorry for words!

My friend, on the other hand, having not heard any entries, saw the preview show on TV, noticed Rybak's comeback, got hyped, and then got more and more disappointed as the song went on. He sighed during the bridge and said it's a sh*tty song.

So, general public can react like this as well.

What you said really makes sense, cuz as far as I can recall, William from wiwibloggs also said that he has a bet on Norway.

I put money on Norway when he was at 26/1. xup

He is my favourite now (he has always been in my top 10) though I wouldn't mind most of the top rated songs (according to the bookies) winning, too. This year is an incredible good year.

My bf, who is not an ESC fan whatsoever, remembers him from 2009 and he also had the exact same reaction. I don't think fame alone can help him win eurovision with a cr*ppy song. C'mon, he is not Lady Gaga or something.

His fame would ameliorate his chances tho, if he had a decent song. It's a shame, cuz he has great songs like Europe's skies or even Kotik.
