Only in your world. Just watch some reaction videos, pre-Eurovision expert pannels or read some reviews... 80% really dislike the song, that's it! You can't just say "that means absolutely nothing" only because you have a different opinion!

In the past weeks I showed some Eurovision songs to a couple of friends which might watch Eurovision (and therefore are potential voters) and the reaction to Rybak was always basically the same: Why is he acting so cocky, why is he coming back with something shitty and pointless like this after having won Eurovision, etc.

Well, I played all the songs to my family members and a couple of friends, none of which are Eurovision fans, and Norway was the only song to get 100% approval rating. See, I can do that too.

And the reason I say reaction videos mean nothing, is because they do! 95% of people watching the show will never have heard any of these songs before and know nothing about what Eurovision fans think. They will decide on the night, and Norway ticks a lot of winner boxes for the general public. The jury is another matter, of course.

For me too, ok maybe not exactly last place, maybe 40th, but this is all crazy for me, because I am really usually his fan. Music is not that bad, but lyrics, I don't even have the words to describe them. I feel kinda guilty that I hate his song, but what else can I do, when it is simply going nowhere.

Here he is my #38 But mostly due to live version he's ''so high'' where it sounds crisper and that choreo to it makes some silly sense (albeit there are moments where I find him really punchable in it ... but shshshshsh ... ). He can sell it for sure.

It will qualify 100%, the song is maybe not the best but his performing skills and charm elevate it extremely.. We all know in Eurovision the whole package matters, not only the song. It's not my favourite but I can see him beating my favourites because he can sell his song better..

It's the same with many reaction videos. Not all of them are crazy Eurovision fans. And don't forget the expert panels of some pre-shows as I said...

But I see you're having your opinion and this discussion doesn't lead us anywhere...

Haha which ones exactly?? Really weak melody, cocky performance, pointless lyrics, all in all meaningless song... + The performance with the visual effects isn't that great neither... It's just his charisma that might save him but as I said with that cocky performance I wouldn't even count on that one!

It's not in my top 10, but I have to admit that I still like the song. When I heard it the first time, I was like: "Nooooooo way!" Didn't like it all because I always compared it to his wonderful "Fairytale". But step by step, I started to like the song.

I have to admit that I love intrumental sooo much, it is catchy, if I could erase lyrics it would be nice song.

Erasing the "shoobie doobie dat dat " part would help a lot! Everytime AR comes to that part my stomack turns...
The rest of the lyrics? Well, definitely not world class poetry... but compared to lots of other pop-songs (ESC songs included) they are not that much worse than many others.

I'm sorry, but every thing you posted there is purely opinion. You aren't trying to be objective about this song's chances. Your feelings on the song are well known, and that is cool. But we are predicting here, and transferring all the reasons you dislike the song onto a prediction of why it won't do well isn't the best way to figure out the right result. If I did that with my betting last year, I would have lost a fair chunk of cash.

In Germany we have a wonderful word for your reaction. it is called "fremdschämen". You can't translate it, but it means to be sort of ashamed while seeing something because it is so cringey and embarassing. I partly understand you as I felt so a few times, but not at this song strangely.

P.S. Felt so at the Spain-song this year.

I think he will be top 10 at least, I won't be angry at him even if he will make great result, but I still think his song is really bad, but I like him as person and artist, and I give him credit because of that.
