On the one hand, the song is enjoyable and I kind of am charmed by the silliness of it and the spark, so seeing Norway do well I shouldn't mind. On the other hand though is me thinking that San Marino, Germany and the UK would never be allowed to get away with something like this, so would it be fair to give a "poor" song a pass just because someone likable is behind it? If this does really well I believe it will be achieved so almost purely by name. No one else would get away with this song. I mean just listen to it. There's fairy dust sound being used every few seconds, and that scat singing... gosh, the scatting! It's actually unreal
I hope Alexander can at least make the final though. I'm still amazed at how this is the comeback entry of one of the most beloved 21st century winners. I don't understand the mindset. At least the song is fun though. I still don't dislike it.

That poll, wow. The question wasn't: "How do you hate the entry?", was it? I don't say that it is a masterpiece, it's definitely out of my top 10, but don't deserve so much hate, just because of Alexander Rybak performs it. Also a strange thing, that somebody likes that, just because AR sings that. Soooo don't compare Fairytale and this, or 2009's Rybak with 2018's one, that doesn't make any sense.

Actually, I didn't like the song in the beginning, but I started to like it rather well. It is not among my top 10, but it's somewhat wonderful seeing Rybak perform and having so much fun. I like his moves. Like his lightness. And I enjoy watching it.

I was always thinking that Rybak was extremely overrated back in 2009! Never understood why so big win in 2009. This one is even worse but it will do well, propably top 5!

i've seen some people saying he will be the new dana but i still think he will probably the new lena, placing somewhere between 8th and 13th

Honestly? I think this is the only song that could steal Israel's thunder: I can totally see this year being a two horse race.

I wouldn't be surprised if this didn't qualify. It's like he's resting on his ESC laurels. His 2009 song was miles ahead of this Bruno Mars wanna be funk track. Rybak can do so much better than this.

I will actually be very surprised if this does not qualify in Lisboa! AR was not my favourite in the Norwegian final, and I am still not a big fan of the song. It's not in any of my playlists. But the song has an easy hook, it's funky and the production is quite ok - and all in all this song is easy to remember after just one listening. The song will definitely make quite a few people pick up their phone.
In addiction to that it's AR. While some people find him cheesy - for lots of people he tends to come through as charming, fun and boyish. I was there live in the NF; and I must say that after watching the live performance I could fully understand why he won. This is definitely a better package live than on my WIMP. And that is what counts in May.
So - even though the song is not my cup of tea, I think it will qualify - and NOT just because it's AR. But I do think ARs stage presense (like it or not) will lift the song up the scoreboards. And then, because he has a known name, he might gain extra points on top of this. Where it will end on the final scorebord? Pretty good I think.

I think this will qualify because of Alexander Rybak. Not because of the name Alexander Rybak as former winner with Fairytale, but because of the person he is
. He lifts up the song enormously. Had this been sung by someone else it would be in the danger zone of qualifying

The song is itself is a nice, catchy song - top 10 material but not top 3. But with Rybak as the singer and performer that he is, I can easily see this song winning.
(Calm down, it won't. There are too many great songs this year!)

I don't think the best way to recover from that is trying to redo his win. Instead I think he should move on and contribute to the Norwegian music business, finding his proper place. He seem lost to me to be honest and gives a kind of sad impression.

Don't like the song, but I admire him of his stage presence. God or no-god, overrated or underrated, I think it would have been better to let someone else take part at ESC. He had his wonderful Moment in 2009, so why coming back when he knows he won't reach that top again?

I find the song quite enjoyable, but returning to the contest nine years later with something... not as good? This is trying one's luck.
