Re: NORWAY 2018 - Alexander Rybak - That's How You Write A Song
Most of the songs came across a lot better tonight than they did in the studio version. The performances were very well put together! The exceptions were "Scandilove", which was a hot mess on stage, and "Talk to the hand", as Aleksander was a little bit too nervous on stage. You could tell he wasn't very comfortable, he barely moved. Still it was the best song and I think it should have won. "You got me" and "Stop the music" really came alive on stage!
About Alexander...well what a mess. Those animations troughout the performance shout "look at this and distract yourself from the bad song in the background!"
It's such a shame to see him comeback with this. You could tell that he only wanted to participate to give a reboost to his career in Norway and not to actually return to Eurovision. I swear I got the feeling troughout the show that he was secretly saying "Please don't vote for me to win". I think he will go down the way most returning winners go - flop hard. I think he might very well fail in the semi. If that happens, hopefully that teaches the Norwegians a lesson for future years - Vote for the song and not for the name.
